Oh your dinner place looks nice krikit, I assume you will be ordering the AAA ALBERTA NEW YORK STRIP hmmmm!

Oh and I don't remember the dry ice burns hurting at all - even after it thawed  I'm just glad I didn't get more carried away with it - since I still have the scars on my hands.

Good morning all!

Good morning everyone. Hope you enjoy your trip Marilyn! I've never been to Vegas. When are you going? Joyce, I used an "American" version of Nanimo Bars last year with a vanilla pudding and while it was good, not as good that's for sure. Too sweet for me. I did manage this year to find some custard powder at a grocer here in Saint Louis called "Global Foods". If you can't find any there, I could pick you up a box or two here and send it to you if you'd like. Let me know.

we are going between Christmas and New years..

i have never been to Vegas either.. the hubby has been bugging me to go for awhile.. he used to go a lot with his family way back when..

Boy I'm feeling homesick. I just got an email from one of my best friends and things are just not good with her at home right now. So she vented a little. Makes me with I could be there for her. I bought her some souvenirs when on our honeymoon, so I think I'll get those ready to send to her, may cheer her up a little. That and we'll make a "date" to chat online. ( there's a 3 hour time difference between us now).

Any one ever find Bird's custard powder anywhere? I could get it easy back home, but I get blank stares when I ask for it here  I want to make some Nanaimo Bars, and read I could use instant vanilla pudding instead. I hope it works good! I think I need a care package..

Awww. I'm sorry you're homesick, Joyce. (F) Where did you move to? I always get my sister to bring me Birds Custard from England, but if you have a World Market near you, you might possibly find it there. That's nice that Carla will send it to you if you can't find it, though. I love our Canada Forum family. :luv:

Thanks... I wish she and I could get together and have girls night. I'm now in SC and she's still in BC. We used to stay up till 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning sometimes and talk, and talk, and talk...

We can get Birds in BC, I used to get it from Safeway all the time. Guess I'll just see how these bars turn out without it for now.

we just got a medical bill from the hospital were hubby had some blood work done awhile back.. the bill is a whopping $1.50

Hope you're able to pay...

^^I don't know.. we are going to have to scrimp and save to pay that bill..:P ..lol

*******

so I found out something yesterday... there is an opening at my husbands job in another department for a day shift, it became official this week but everyone knew it was opening.. hubby doesn't want it because it isn't what he wants to do, it is inventory control... but the guy who got the other day shift spot wanted to work in that department but he also really wanted to get on day shift.. but if he knew that spot was opening why didn't he wait  and he can't go there now because you have to be at least 6 months in one department before you can move to another one...

grrr, so if he wouldn't have applied, my hubby could have probably got the day shift...

Good morning all! Beautiful day here in Calgary, bit of sun and 9 degrees!

Here is coffee and a visa for everyone!

Mercy Buckets! Great view, is that your office? If I had a view like that I don't think that I could get any work done. I'd just be staring out the window, daydreaming.

I'm evil. I love when my cat Thomas gets stuck outside in a rainstorm. He come hauling into the house and wants to be held until he warms up and dries off. :luv:
