Alton got a new house! lol

I can safely say that I will not be using dry ice to freeze my berries. lol. Thanks for the link, Rhiann!

I'm a little iffy about the dry ice thing myself.

Always thought the stuff was neat though.

Apparently I thought it was really neat when I was about 14 and we had some in the cafeteria at school. So neat in fact I burned a mark on the top of each one of my hands

Ouch. Were you not told to not touch it?

Wow, that's weird.

I remember seeing it and the guy who was demonstrating with it told us not to touch it or it'd burn us... even though getting burned by ice sounds weird.

so I have this plan that has been brewing in my head for the last hour or so.. I feel kind of guilty for not going for Christmas this year but I just don't think it is doable...

but then I thought what if instead of my parents coming here next March we could go there... we could take 2 or 3 weeks and maybe drive there... I was thinking Spring break which I think it is the beginning of March because the kids would be home but I know if we drive David would probably want to go to a Mariners game and the baseball season doesn't start until the beginning of April... we could go over Easter.. the kids would have a 4 day weekend...

I also want to take him to the Othello Tunnels and that doesn't open until April...

Great deal. I love that when that happens.

Boy I'm feeling homesick. I just got an email from one of my best friends and things are just not good with her at home right now. So she vented a little. Makes me with I could be there for her. I bought her some souvenirs when on our honeymoon, so I think I'll get those ready to send to her, may cheer her up a little. That and we'll make a "date" to chat online. ( there's a 3 hour time difference between us now).

Any one ever find Bird's custard powder anywhere? I could get it easy back home, but I get blank stares when I ask for it here  I want to make some Nanaimo Bars, and read I could use instant vanilla pudding instead. I hope it works good! I think I need a care package..

Good morning everyone. Hope you enjoy your trip Marilyn! I've never been to Vegas. When are you going? Joyce, I used an "American" version of Nanimo Bars last year with a vanilla pudding and while it was good, not as good that's for sure. Too sweet for me. I did manage this year to find some custard powder at a grocer here in Saint Louis called "Global Foods". If you can't find any there, I could pick you up a box or two here and send it to you if you'd like. Let me know.

Today is bosses day so on the way to work I stopped by starbucks and picked her up a gift card and travel mug. I completely forgot until this morning. Anyways I also bought a trial pack of their new instant coffee and for once I'm looking forward to my afternoon slump so I can try it.

The week I was travelling to and from Canada was when they brought this Via, or Viva, whatever it's called out. They had this blind taste test. You had to pick the instant from the brewed. I didn't pick the right one, on every test! They were handing them out, samples, so I grabbed about 10. I've used them on mornings that I'm up with the puppy early, and don't want to brew a pot of coffee until Gene's up. They're excellent!

I hope they come out with a decaf version - I can only have unleaded :( But I love Starbucks coffee. I am one of those snotty witches who order a Grande/ Decaf/triple/ non-fat/ light whipped/ extra hot/ pumpkin spice lattes :)

This family makes me very very angry.. NONE of those kids should have been on that interview.. they all look like they haven't slept in days and they all look ILL.. she has a bucket on the ready? WHY would a parent put their kid on national TV KNOWING that their kids were ill.. I'm highly suspect of this family's motivations at this point.. I'd be telling the press to get out of my house and leave us alone for a few days.. instead of rushing to be on the Today show..

GAH!
