All this talk about Niagara Falls is making me miss home! If you need some advice on where to go Peachey, I lived in the area for 22 years :)

Speaking of Niagara Falls, I was in a calender store down here yesterday and I found one called, "The Wonders of America." I pick it up and whats on the front cover? Niagara Falls, the Canadian side...

LOL Nice, and I'm sorry I made you homesick :( I was just so excited I get to see my hunny every tho it feels like I just came back from a trip to see him.

Is there anything we can do that's off the beaten path? We were there last year and did most of the touristy stuff. I was thinking of wine tasting since it's that time of year, but I figured a lot of tourists would be doing that.

There's some great 'haunted' places in Niagara on the Lake that might make an interesting venue. I think there is a 'ghost' tour that goes to a number of the different places. You could also buy tickets to a performance at the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake. Yes, winery tours are great and this is a good time of year to do them. It might be a bit early for tasting the nouveau wines but maybe not.

On a totally different topic, I know now what has been killing the kittens. This morning after Joe left for work I stood outside for a while watching the stars. Then, about 2 houses up from us, crossing the road towards the green space along the creek came a fox. It was about the size of a very large cat but was definitely a fox.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Some of the vineyards have lovely restaurants where they do wine and food pairings. Or spend a night at the White Oaks Resort and get pampered. OMG, I want to go back now.

Its all good! I'm happy for you :) I remember the distance well.

Off the beaten path? That's something I'll have to think about a little! There are a couple cool things I don't see a lot of tourists doing... Walking down in the gorge. Its a hike and its all uphill on the way back but its a pretty cool experience! You can get up close to the rapids. I really like the botanical gardens as well, but I never see anyone there... Another cool thing that people don't normally do, is walk across the Rainbow Bridge. It has a walkway that offers some pretty neat views of the falls. The bridge itself is neutral territory, so you'd only have to go through customs on the way back to the Canadian side, which is easy. I've never done wine tasting, so I can't speak to that! But if you haven't been to the casino its a must see. If you aren't a gambler there are lots of nice shops, restaurants and bars inside as well.

Most of the time I would just spend hours walking along the parkway watching the falls, that was always my favorite thing to do. The best things in life are free! :luv:
