Tomorrow should be my last day on "day" orientation (0700 to 1930...or longer) Next week start the night shift!!! Little quieter at night, and more $$,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Looks like we'll be going coffee-less for a few weeks. Carla's upped and left us. Good morning everyone. You'll have to get your own coffee. I'm far too lazy to make it. :hehe:

First yoga class is tonight.

Good morning, VJ! I was going to volunteer to post coffee while Carla is gone, but knowing me I'll forget, so here is coffee for today. If I remember tomorrow, I might do it again, but my coffee is definitely no replacement for Carla's

Today is very foggy here in California. A police officer got mad at me today for not walking on the sidewalk like he told me to yesterday, especially since you can hardly see two feet in front of you outside right now. I was running late, but that wasn't a good enough excuse  That was my lesson for this morning.

Well, the feral cat showed up this morning for breakfast - and her black and white kitten was with her - so it was just the little Siamese that was killed the other night. I am so relieved - although now of course we have the problem of the feral cats hanging around again, hehehe. When the kitten is a little older I'll try to move them over to the feral feeding station for food.

On other news . . I'm going to get my hair trimmed today - it has been driving me crazy. It reaches a certain length and then I can't do anything with it so have to get it taken care of before I do something drastic and try to cut it myself (has been known to happen!).

Overcast and cloudy again here today . . . we don't need more rain. Was catching up on the news this morning of all of the damage and fatalities from the flooding of the last few days - some truly sad stories there - heart-breakingly tragic :( .

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Good morning all.

I hear you on the hair thing Kathryn, if I could find my hair scissors I would had cut my own hair the other day too

I have basic stuff unpacked - I will be so glad when we get a place and get to unpack ALL our stuff. Like I want to make some butternut squash soup - anyone know where my blender is??

Speaking of weather, its 44 degrees outside (or 7 for us Canadian's). Middle of September and there is snow on the mountains! And... I didn't wear a jacket today. I'm basically an idiot. You don't expect these things this time of year! At least not in Canada, where is WARM

No, I was walking out of the entrance to the base. On the left side (where I need to walk to get to my bus stop,) there is no sidewalk for about 15 feet, I always just kind of sneak along there since it's such a short distance, but the officer wants me to cross the street and walk on the sidewalk there for the whole 3 seconds it takes me to get through.

Oh well, better safe than dead, I suppose.

Good morning from Lansing Michigan. Didn't get much sleep last night. Too excited I guess. Hope to be at my folks place no later than noon. Hope everyone is doing okay. You know how after you leave your home when travelling and you get out on the road...hours and hours from home, and then you say, uh oh...I forgot...

my computer!!! Yes, forgot my laptop! Geesh, glad I didn't forget my head...

Well, enjoy your day peep!
