Last night we went to a wine tasting and had a fabulous time! Met soooooo many fun and interesting people. And now I'm signed up for a yoga class where they have wine and appies afterwards, so I have to bring snacks! I couldn't figure out why it was 3 hours long until they told me it's a social group also. Crazy ladies. LOL

That's great that you met so many nice people krikit! And yoga! Is this something you have done before?

My nieces house was broken in to today - well not today, they discovered it today.

Her friend was driving by today, with her friend. So my nieces friend says - oh the door is open and her friend turns to her and says oh when I drove by yesterday the door was open too.

So my nieces friend stops and goes in the house and sees a purse on the kitchen counter and flips out - thinking my niece is in the house, but it wasn't the purse she had with her (she was away all weekend), so she calls my niece and tells her.

There is a window in the front, on the porch that they broke to get in - all they stole was her ipod - they did have her laptop down in the foyer but didn't take it, for whatever reason.

The thing is, she lives on a main-ish road for the suburb and the door was open for at least part of Saturday and Sunday and a neighbour didn't even come and check it out. Now i'm not a friendly neighbour but even I would have knocked on the door!

I just feel bad for her and hope it won't make her scared to stay in her house now.

I've never done yoga before! I did sign up for a class years ago, paid my money, went..... and there was no one there! They cancelled the class but never told me. I guess I took a while to get over that. lol

Ohmygosh, that's horrible! :o SO glad it wasn't worse. Thank God for good friends.

So I am very happy for garbage/recycling day today. Our pickups are on Mondays so you know what happens whenever there's a long weekend. icon2.gif We get twice weekly garbage pickup, but the recycling has to wait. And that's another thing. Seriously, people. What in the world does anyone need twice weekly pickup for? I mean, the majority of the people here are seniors, with a large number of them single person households. Who can generate that much garbage in two days? Very rarely do I see anyone with garbage out on a Thursday. And those are the people who aren't recycling. Which ticks me off even more.:angry:

No big plans for today. I need to return something to Kohl's and pick up a few groceries. That's about it, really.

Good morning everyone. What a horrible time I had logging on this morning! Said there was an IPS data base error, then the log on page said it was disabled. Thought I was banned or something. Anyway, sorry to hear about the break-in at your nieces house trailmix! Krikit, so glad you met some new and fun people! Marilyn, how was the party? Kathryn, not many Siamese strays are there? That's weird...

Enjoy your day!

We were getting those errors yesterday when Ewok was playing with the database. It's probably because it's your first login since then.

So my border crossing on Friday couldn't have been easier. First, my GPS sent me through the Lewiston crossing, when it usually sends me to Buffalo. That's ok tho, cause I didn't have to wait in line!

So I get to the Border Guard and this is how it goes:

BG: Citizenship

Me: Canada

BG: Where you going?

Me: Lancaster, Pennsylvania

BG: Sorry what's that?

Me: Lancaster, Pennsylvania

BG: What's there?

Me: My fiance

BG: Where are you from?

Me: Sudbury, Ontario

BG: How far is that from here?

Me: Took me about 5.5 hours

BG: How did that happen? You're here and he's there?

Me: We met online

BG: When you coming back?

Me: Not this Monday coming up, but next Monday

BG: How often do you cross to see him?

Me: Every couple of months

BG: Must be hard

Me: The distance?

BG: Yeah, you only get to see each other every couple of months

Me: Oh, we take turns travelling

BG: (inspecting inside my car) Any tobacco, alcohol, food?

Me: I have candy

BG: For me?

Me: You want some?

BG: Haha, here you go, have a nice trip

Maybe I'm just charming, or maybe it was the pigtails... he was cute tho :)

I hear you on the garbage thing krikit - I thought they were doing it because it is so hot and garbage being outside - I decided it was because they were trying to keep the place free of rodents!

Several months ago Lake Mary changed it though so now there is only one pick up per week on the Thursday - and it's the same day for recycling.

So we have automatic daytime running lights on our vehicle now woot!

We also had to have the auto window on the driver's side fixed, the gear wasn't catching - that is $620 :o - not sure what the auto-lights cost. My Husband is on his way to the dodge dealer to pick it up now, then off to Canadian tire for another inspection for the government weeeeeeeeeee :hehe:

Egads, get dressed krikit! So it's mandatory because of your HOA?

No. It's our choice to have termite protection. Makes things a whole lot easier when it comes to sell. Plus it protects the house. If we ever do get termites (which I doubt we will) the termite protection company is liable for the cost of the repairs. That's why they have to do the yearly internal inspection. He's up in the attic right now. lol

Ask her if she wants your phone number to arrange payment of your invoice.

yeah yeah, i'm late to the thread...but it's unusual for termites to be up in the attic (subterranean ones, that is. if you got formosa, eeek!)

I am still having a lot of problems with JV, Carla -the pages are taking forever to load, just now it closed on me and went back a page with no instructions, then said Address not found, then loaded slowly again when I clicked refresh. There is definitely something amiss with the site. I know that Captain Ewok has been working on it for a while, but there are obviously still problems.

Well, the kittens moved to the back porch this morning - much safer for them there. The black and white one is twice the size of the siamese one and looks like it could be 4 months old or so. The siamese looks younger. I don't know if they were from the same litter or if the mother cat had two quick litters one after the other with a single kitten in each. The kittens definitely have different fathers, although that can happen in the same litter. I have never even seen a siamese cat in the neighbourhood, so I have no idea where the mother encountered him. Just weird.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I wish I could have cats :(

I developed an allergy when I was 19. Usually it just takes some eye drops to make my eyes stop itching, but i don't want to have to use them everyday. maybe if I got a short hair cat and bathed it once a week...
