Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Well our min-golf, batting cages, driving range gig went well out near Dulles centre. Mini-golf course was not very challenging, rather plain. batting cages were great and driving range was nice, as it has the "automatic balls" the balls rolled out from the bin, and right onto the tee, which was adjustable in height, pretty cool. Too bad the mini-golf course was not a bit more challenging!! But for a ttl of $18, was a great deal, ty groupon.com

Glad you had a good time flames.

Good morning everyone. Right now i'm watching this show on country music television, about controversial country songs - it's really quite interesting. So far Toby Keith has been credited with 2.

One of them is courtesy of the red white and blue - here is a bit of it - they call it (some of the commentators, 'patriotic' - but anyway):

Justice will be served

And the battle will rage

This big dog will fight

When you rattle his cage

And you'll be sorry that you messed with

The U. S. of A.

Cause we'll put a boot in your ####

It's the American way

 Man Toby Keith... I want to like him, but he makes it so hard. Between that song and his "Love me if you can" song, where he is clearly trying to tell us that his political views make him a good person... I just kinda wish he'd shut up and focus on good songs, which he can actually produce! Like, "How do you like me now"

Looks nice! I hope we can make it back to California sometime. I mentioned to Tim I'd love to see San Diego and the zoo there.

Ugh...the $$$$ keeps teasing me. I really want to trade when it's high ( of course ) and when I see that it's up, I get greedy, hoping it will go up more..but then it goes down a couple dollars. Guess I'll bite the bullet and transfer when I see some numbers I like again. *sigh*. really don't want to loose too much.

Happy Labour/Labor Day everyone! I find it interesting that in Canada the shops virtually shut down, but in the US they have sales.

The holiday originated in Canada out of labor disputes ("Nine-Hour Movement") first in Hamilton, then in Toronto, Canada in the 1870s, which resulted in a Trade Union Act which legalized and protected union activity in 1872 in Canada. The parades held in support of the Nine-Hour Movement and the printers' strike led to an annual celebration in Canada. In 1882, American labor leader Peter J. McGuire witnessed one of these labor festivals in Toronto. Inspired from Canadian events in Toronto, he returned to New York and organized the first American "labor day" on September 5 of the same year. Link

Jerry Springer seemed to connect more with the contestants and seemed to genuinely care about them...

I don't know if you watched the first season of AGT when Regis Philbin was the host... that was bad.. he acted like the contestants had the plague or something..

I was just reading about Jerry Springer coming back and this is what I found ...

It has been confirmed that popular host Jerry Springer will make his comeback to America’s Got Talent, when he returns to host a live version of the TV talent contest.

http://www.inentertainment.co.uk/20090902/...-back-and-live/

so I don't think he is coming back to do the TV show...

I have a vague recollection of Regis Philbin hosting the show. I didn't really watch it back then, though. That's interesting that Jerry Springer is doing a different show. I guess I misunderstood their announcement. I did think it was kinda weird that he was coming back for the finals though. lol. One more sleep!

Good morning everyone! Going to water areobics this morning and then off to finish up some last minute grocery shopping for tomorrow's ethnic pot luck. My mouth is watering already.

How was your pot luck, Carla!??

I just attended rib fest. It was YUM!

Ohhh where? My Mom is going to Ribfest in Burlington today

I want to go to Ribfest. :crying:

My husband used to make sure he visited me every Ribfest. We loved it. Darnit! I wish he'd immigrated to Canada instead of vice versa.

Happy belated birthday Huggles and Poprocks!

Well, now I've waited too long today...it's really slipped and having a hard time climbing back up! I have a figure in mind, and if it gets to that again before long..I'm booking! Otherwise, tomorrow is another day... ^_^ I just want to do another transfer so we have enough for the wedding and honeymoon expenses. Then hopefully I won't have to transfer as often after that.
