Hi all! I've been so busy since I started my residency I've only been able to pop in once or twice. But I still think of you all and will check in whenever I can (it will be easier when I get my home internet set up)

Maj's EAD was approved the week we moved... we couldn't change the address before because we hadn't moved yet, and by the time we moved they'd already sent the card. So I doubt we'll ever see it.

But the good news is we got transferred to CSC! There goes my theory that people with cosponsors don't get transferred. So now it's just more waiting, but at least I don't have to worry about our interview letter being sent to our old address and the DO being all confused about our move and all that.

See you all soon.

I really want to start a thread regarding all the bigotry. I feel in my heart it could be so positive, but I am afraid I will either get slapped for starting a controversial thread (seems we can't be free with what we say now) or it will just turn really ugly.

Guys I'm so pent up, beat up and frustrated with all this. I'd leave the forum, but its not like this is the only place it happens. I will NEVER turn away from Mohammed because of stupidity like this and I will NEVER regret that I love him. I think, even though the heated argument that started on the WU thread was painful and a bit ugly, threads like this if handled right, could be just as informative and beneficial as any other on this forum.

Sorry, it's my soap box and you guys know well I get all stirred up.

Yeah, I regret losing my temper, and I don't think my writing in ALL CAPS was necessary. But sometimes, ya know, it's like the last straw that gets you.

I think a thread about it, no matter how well intentioned, is bound to get people's feelings hurt and make us angry. Well, at least me!

Oh my gosh, shwarma, yum! I wish we had some good middle eastern restaurants here. I might just have to make my own. Anyone have any good recipes?

I have a few that I'm going to try out this weekend

kofta - I think that some spices should be added, some parsley and lemon, maybe a little cinnamon, some cumin? I'm hoping to make several small batches with different seasonings to see what tastes best.

This Shish Kebabs with Cinnamon Clove Rub looks delicious.

I also have Chicken and chickpeas on my list to try.

Here's a shwerma recipe, but who has filet mignon lying around the house  I doubt it can match that fresh sawed off the hunk of meat taste one gets in the middle east. mmmmmm

And also, here's a tribute to my favorite all time food - koshari. My husband has almost made so it almost tastes like what you get on the streets of Cairo, but it's never exactly the same.

Thanks for the recipes, Rahma! I've never heard of koshari! I'll definitely have to try a few of these.
