You guys are the best therapy ever.

And the best thing?? It's free. Just true friends that can be serious when need be and silly too when it's time for it.

Why can't we find nice people around us like this. Why do I feel like I have found more people to share with on VJ in the last few years than anywhere around me ????

Why can't we live closer ?

Yes, make sure your next job gives you all day internet access!!

Very essential for peace of mind, I hear.

Speaking of next job, was browsing quick for job on Yahoo and for some odd reason the search the word "animal" came up with a job for

"Department of Homeland Security"

Wow, Danu. Glad things went well for you. Did you work at Blockbuster or did you mean you just happened to be at Blockbuster when this occurred?

I was just browsing movies after work. I really didn't think at that moment in time I was stressed at all. The worst part was my parents were out of town dropping my sister off at college so it took forever to get through to them. The nurse was impressed though because when I started blacking out I realized what was happening, so I got really low to the ground so I wouldnt have as far to fall. Still not something I ever want to go through again.

I think the worst part is that because that happened I get panic attacks about it happening again, and the panic attacks increase my heart rate too. I've had to learn to really mellow out in the last year, and I'm only 24!

We should meet in the middle for a VJ reunion type thing

Mephhyyyyyssssssssss!

Girl, we love ya.

I want to address one thing that no one addressed yet because it's the un-related work thing you posted about in your original post. It's a little something entitled, "no time with the husband.."

If any one knows this one, it's me. My husband works in a restaurant and I spend 90% of my time outside of work completely alone. :( It's really sad but he rarely gets weekend days off. The whole month of June he got 1 sunday off. He often works nights so that hes gone when I get home from work and he gets home from work just as I'm about to get up for work in the morning again!

It's REALLY hard, mostly because I moved here FOR HIM! It seems ironic, almost. I break down ALL the time and actually had one of those last night were I was just feeling sorry for myself, sobbing, and telling him that I'm very lonely. We really rarely do anything together so it's hard for me. I understand that your job and your husband's job keep you from seeing each other and spending time together. It's so very hard. I try to tell myself you have to make the most of what you've got, but some times its not enough to satisfy the requirements of actually having a relationship. I struggle!!

As for your job, get out of there if you can. I've had to stick it out in jobs I didn't like so far and it sucks. But when you have to run, you've gotta run! I worked for a family construction company as my first job in the US and it was super tough. The boss and his male family members were sexist pigs, he screamed all day and night at every one..it was just a really terrible scene all together. Even though my boss sucks that I have right now, it's still 100 times better than where I was. You can do it!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Yeah that's the thing with all of this.

He works the great Mon-Fri kind of job, and I have Saturday and Tuesdays off. And 2 saturday/month the kids are with us. So it leaves us 2 saturday per month together alone with no work. And 2 nights per week I work until 7 pm, so he's at home playing World of warcraft until I get home and we dont have dinner before 8h30ish... Then we watch a movie or something or play Wow together and its time to go to bed.

And half of the time I am so tired I just crash on the couch until 9-10 pm....

We used to go out for bike rides, go walk around the lake, just go out for fun. We are drifting away of what we used to be and we both are sad about it. We just want to be together thats it. :(

We even looked into the possibility of me helping in the warehouse at his company, but the HR lady doesnt want family members to work together....bleh I would be so happy, just to have the same schedule, holidays off and see him everyday. And I know it would be ok because he would be my boss and I work harder than anyone there at the moment....so it wouldnt be too hard to get along.

On can always dream right ?

Well, maybe that's where you need to start? What if you went to see the HR person there and let her get to know you a bit. Let her know that you are a hard worker etc etc. As for the family aspect of it, I have worked at the same company as my Husband before and it was terrific.

Maybe ask her for a 1 month trial, explain to her that you two could talk after one month and if she doesn't think it's working, no hard feelings (assuming this woman is in general a good person).

It's great to be a hard worker but you just can't let it consume you. What I like about my job now is that I can go home and not worry about my job. Granted some of the people I work with are douches but you get that everywhere. I hope you find a better job soon.

Exactly! Even if it's a job you don't like you have to learn to not bring it home. I got into the habit of leaving it at the border :P Soon as i saw the welcome to ontario sign i would give a loud sigh / exhale and leave my problems of the day there. Takes practice but eventually you get it right :)

Well here's the deal....she is a nice person.......NOT!!!

lol

Just a big crabby ###### that hates her life. And she hates my husband. And she hates me because she was once cheated on by her ex husband and he left her with the kids and she has been mad at Josh for divorcing his ex wife with 3 children.....for some reason she feels for his (lazy) ex without even knowing the circumstances. And since day 1 (I have walked in a few times and there is about only 15 people in that place) she has been bitter at me and Josh probably because she hates seeing us happy.

So I dont think that she will ever accept that request. He has tried before when there was openings and she would barely speak to him.

LOL that was golden :) And yes..having internet does make a difference. Although there are some companies that block a hell of a lot ..:( I used to bring my laptop in to work just so i could chat with David on gmail etc. lol since cell phone bills were too expensive after a couple months :P

Hugs. Aye..maybe it's because we are women most of us..or maybe it's cuz we are Canadian who knows..but i love reading most of the posts from this group of ppl. You are all very caring and friendly individuals who i would be happy to call friends in Rl if we ever were to meet :)

Also i think people with common interests tend to bond with each other easily, due to the very similar emotional ties etc especialy involved with our visa process as is the case for us in this forum. :)
