I was under the impression that a public plan would require contributions for premiums (just like private insurance). Why are people talking as if it's some kind of giveaway? Am I missing something? Presumably LPRs would be eligible, as residents, to purchase the public option, no?

I believe, or at least would hope, that the answers here are 'yes'. Yes, premiums would be charged. Yes, it ought to cover LPRs who choose it.

Point is, health care (not insurance) or the uninsured and uninsurable is the right thing to do. It's a moral issue.

The insurance whores want you think it's a free market issue. It isn't. This is about values.
