waiting for interview date at london embassy

....so i mailed off my checklist a few weeks ago and im waiting for my interview date to come through....

however...i found a super cheap flight today for the 21st aug, a couple of weeks before the date i put on my paperwork that i plan to fly out....

im dying to book it, however want to make double sure i get my interview within good time of me leaving...

hoping our date is in the system and the appointment letter is sloooowly on the way my fiance called the nvc on 603 334 0700 giving our lnd number and was told that it is nothing to do with them there and we are to call the london embassy...

am i right in thinking this is not the case?

NVC don't set the interview date, the embassy does that and updates the system. I think your interview date depends on the marriage or departure date you gave in the forms sent to them. You can write a letter to the London Embassy about your change of mind and the wish to bring your interview date forward. I stand to be corrected though but I think that is how it works. thanks for your reply, yes it may be worth writing a letter for sure, i understand the embassy sets the interview dates but was told that the dates can be viewed on nvc's system before actually receiving the letter....

DOS is who you can call to see if your interview date has been assigned.

It took London just 2 weeks to issue packet 4 for us. Maybe you have an interview date set already. Don't bother to try to get the London Embassy to respond to mere "status" inquiries. They usually don't.
