I wanna share my interview experience with all VJ'ers. As promised, i will keep you posted regardless what happens. I'll start with the good news...

My wife and i arrived at the immigration office about 20 mins before my interview appointment, we could have arrived a little earlier but i missed a freeway exit which added about 5 mins to our travel time. :bonk: When i we arrived i made sure i have my interview letter and ID's ready so i can easily show it to the security. When we got to the entrance, the security was really friendly.... he wished me goodluck after seeing the letter. We went to the 2nd floor and went straight to the window to "check in" and left my interview letter. The waiting area was pretty big, it had about 200 seats. There were about 50-60 persons waiting. It took 45 mins before my name was called. The officer walked us to his office/interview room. After entering his office my wife and i took an oath. After that he pulled out my folder/file from stacks of other folders. He verified my name, birthday and address. I told him we already moved to a new address... he asked for proof of new address so i gave him our apartment lease agreement. He turned to page 3 of the I-485 form and asked me only a couple of questions and all my answers were "no". My wife was asked a few questions like... "do u work?" when she said yes the IO asked for pay stubs. He also asked for original copies of our Mariage Contract, Birth Certs... We also gave Joint Bank accounts, Phone bills and lease agreement. I brought about 200 pictures but he only took 4 or 5. His last question was prolly the most easiest question i had to answer.. he asked me if i wanted a stamp on my passport... ofcourse my reply was "YES". He cancelled my 10yr muliple visa then he pulled out a piece of paper from his table and wrote my name and file number. It was the welcome letter saying my application was approved. After that he asked for my EAD card. He walked us out and told us to wait at the 1st floor waiting area. We waited about 2 minutes then he gave me my passport with the I-551 stamp and USDHS dry seal. I shook his hand and said thank you. On our way to the car i was telling myself that finally after all the hardwork.... I am permanent resident!

Now time for the bad news...

On our way home i received a very unique "Welcome to the United States" kinda thing.... I was welcomed by a police officer with a Speeding ticket!!! :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Lastly, I wanna say that i think the IO's are not as "strict" or as "bad" as most of us imagine. Some of them prolly went through the same process like us... they know how we feel and know how important this is to all of us.

Thank you all for your prayers and support!!

I think you're right. I suppose there are a few "bad apples" but that's true of every profession. They really aren't out to get you, just doing their job. Congrats!

Congratulations! Bummer about the ticket, though.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
