Hello all. Today is my first day submitting a question on Visa Journey. I hope someone can help me out. :D

My fiance had his visa interview in Ho Chi Minh City in the beginning of June. He was requested to provide additional documents from me (Tax Transcripts). He provided those to the embassy on the 21st of June and was sent away with a new piece of paper stating that he had to wait for his documents to be reviewed and processed. I called the embassy last week to see if they could tell me how long this would take. The information desk told me it could take months to a year for them to review these documents. Does anyone know what their process is, how long it really takes, etc.? Wow, that isn't too precise of an answer! :)

Thanks!

I cannot speak to the delay presented by the Embassy, however, I suggest you check again. That answer does not sound correct.

I am curious however, why you would be dealing with HCMC when your fiance is from Cameroon?

My fiance currently lives and works in Vietnam. That is where I met him.

Thanks for the suggestion. I plan on contacting whoever I can in the search for additional information. it's just quite difficult to get past the information desk at the embassy to get additional information.

WI Girl,

This may explain the long timeframe that you were given. Perhaps the consulate in HCMC is not comfortable passing judgement on a non-Vietnamese, at least this particular non-Vietnamese. Perhaps the case file has been sent off somewhere - maybe an offfice in the USA or maybe the consulate in Cameroon - for a review of the documents and an opinion. The consulate in HCMC may have no idea how long it's going to take for a review of the case and for an opinion to come back to them.
