so much for my next question, which was if canadian women are better due to having cold lips and a hot tongue

Charles from the perspective of a usc male married to a canadian beauty, that would be a resounding YES!!!!

How do you guys cope up with arguments esp when its almost everyday?

You take a deep breath and count to 10. Remember the stress level is on both sides, not just yours.

Is it normal for couples to argue everyday?

I kinda wonder, are you there with your SO? or do you argue on the phone or on line? I would take a look at maybe why the arguments are there. As you can read and know yourself this process especially when away from your loved one is so stressing from all that I have read. Not sure a book would help much. Maybe the VJ'er can write one to help couples deal with ( money talking ) stress before, after and during this whole drawn out process. I wish you the best and hope all works out in the long run.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Some people refer to any discrepancy in opinion as an argument. If every time Nik and I had different ideas we thought we were arguing, it'd be every day, sometimes more than once. I actually enjoy it when we have different ideas on a subject. Leads to stimulating discussion. How boring if we agreed on everything! May as well have a relationship with the bathroom mirror. It's cheaper! On most things I find that it's not the end of the world if we simply disagree.

Depends really, people go through phases, sometimes all the technical matters in the journey makes you fight. From OPs timeline, the couple is living apart in their own respective countries. What she has to see is what they are fighting about, how much is the stress level. Are they fighting about the process or are their other issues.

I can vouch, me and husband fought almost everyday during our NVC process, one of the days I got so frustrated that I made a thread to talk about it, I later regretted making the thread but it was stressful time. Now that we are living together, we hardly fight.

I think also the more time you give to the relationship either you learn more about each other or you start hating each other. First year of marriage is always difficult and on top the separation. So OP don't lose heart, try to evaluate where both of you stand in the relationship, is it all because of the stress of being apart or there are other things............I am not asking you to tell the whole world about other things, but evaluate on your own.

Also try to let go non-issues. I have seen couples fighting over things like --why the other person doesn't like colour red. Just don't make big deal of non-issues.

Hope life would bring you more joy than what you are feeling right now (F)

Hello!

I just want to share something. I've read this in several self-help and relationship articles online...

Anyways the idea is that if you would confront/argue with your partner, always start with how you feel or how it affects you and not with what he did wrong. The reason for that is because if he heard your feelings 1st, he will start to sympathize with you and be willing to work out the issue. While if you start with his mistake, he will think that you are attacking him and thus, he will be defensive and worst, he might not be willing to talk about it at all. Always start with...

I am...because you...

I feel...because you...

Well, that's the idea...I'm not yet married but I will soon be. My fiance and I are both very sensitive. It used to be so difficult for me to raise my concern because he immediately gets defensive. I believe that style works like a charm in our relationship. We've both learned to listen to each other's concern and work it out.

Anyways, just though it could be worth mentioning and who knows it might work for you too. ;)
