I always get a little worried when I read stuff like this.

Binders of proof??? WE sent in about 5 or 6 ticket stubs (airline and such) and a whole pile of pictures and some screen captures of the plethora of chatlogs we have plus a joint bank account.

THis always gives me a case of the "uh ohs" Like we didn't supply enough evidence of bonefide relationships.

Yeep.

hahah me too! i sent our wedding certificate and a letter from hubby folks who know us and know we love each other, then a few photos and some photocopies of 3 cards and maybe a couple of emails.. thats it! i didnt supply heaps of stuff!!!!

Ha! it is SO easy to over think everything, I find. But I think I sent the exact same amount of stuff you did, figuring the real test of bonefide was to be had at the interview -- that for the initial stages we only had to prove that there's a relationship, of course, and that we've met in the past 2 years. I guess sometimes I find it easy to overlook that stuff or get freaked out when I read about 'binders of evidence' as I think, it's my husband, duh... nothing to hide here! We've been 'together' though apart for years and this process is DIFFICULT and expensive, how could I possibly fake it? Why would anyone want to?

I think it'll be okay too... I just keep thinking, "oh, I wonder what kind of shenanigans we forgot or did poorly?" But me and every other person that's here looking for a little guidance, right?

It's super hard not being with our partner's so, making things a touch easier is always welcome.

Nice to 'meet' you mrsemcee...

Thanks Bani. LGG, please don't worry about it. We applied for the K1 visa in April 2008, but did not get it, and our case was sent back to USCIS for lack of evidence proof. So this time we went into overdrive, and tried to front load with as much information as possible to back up our relationship. I am sure the evidence you submitted is perfectly fine  Good luck and I believe we all will have a fast approval

FYI - front loading is a BAD idea.

With my I-130 for proof all I sent was 3 affidavit letter. Look at my timeline - we are moving very quickly.

As a former government employee I can tell you that there a very good chance that an application with 3 binders of information will sit until someone wants to deal with it.

Its not a bad idea when you are going through a consulate like New Delhi. Don't get me wrong, but there have been cases where CO disaproves all the documents shown during the interview, but in no way they can deny the documents which an applicant has submitted at USCIS. Whatever you submit with your i-130, it goes to the consulate during your interview. Papers are reviewed before the actual interview, and if you have shown more proofs than just marriage certificates, its most likely they will keep that in account.

Again it really depends upon which consulate you are going through, Delhi is high fraud, so the more you prepare the better.

But I would suggest OP to keep 1 binder for everything, not 3 different binders.

hey nice to meet you too LGG!

i think you and i pretty much sent in twin applications! haha

i totally thought the way you did too.... so my application was pretty brief, but enough info to cover the questions and what we need to "show bonafide marriage/union"

best of luck to you, keep in touch. i added you to my friends list

Thanks everyone for the well wishes :) For those of you that sent less info, I am sure you will be fine. Like I stated earlier, this was a different situation entirely  Good luck to everyone on their journeys

Yes, and when you have already gone through a denial like we have, for NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE, then you have to do everything you can to prove them wrong. Unfortunately, 3 binders have been sent, no turning back. Delhi is definitely not an easy consulate to deal with. We did not submit a lot of information the first time, got appoved with USCIS in 4 months, Delhi turned around and said we did not have enough evidence, and sent us back. So our thoughts, are just like Trinket's who has been through India, that they will not deny the information that USCIS has approved. They cannot re-adjudicate an already approved petition. If it takes longer to get approved, that is fine too, because I do not have a lot of vacation time left this year, and I have to be there for his interview. Anyhow, they are on a 5 month threshold of approving i-130 visas according to their website.

I forgot to type something else. The consulate had already had the 221g ready for my then fiance before he got to the interview. So yes, Delhi does base mostly everything on the information submitted to USCIS. The CO told him everything was fine, and he did very well on his interview, then handed him the 221g asking for the addtional evidence. The evidence he asked for was impossible for us to submit, so we did the next best thing. Called the embassy to find out what else could be done, contacted our attorney, and did everything both advised. Still it was not good enough. Got the 2nd 221g stating that they were not convinced of our relationship and was returning us to USCIS.
