What's For Dinner - Part Deux

So, this morning I donated all of my dishes, pots and pans to the Salvation Army, as I'll be moving tomorrow, and won't need them either at my temporary location, or my ultimate destination.

I came home, and was about to get out a tin of soup to eat for lunch before I realized I had absolutely nothing to cook it in! I sold my microwave a week ago, and don't have a single soup-cookin' dish left. So A&W it was.

Tonight I think I'll splurge a bit and get sushi from Sushi Garden. Sucks to know it may be the last time I ever go there, since I'm moving quite a ways away from Burnaby (Langley).

Mmmmmm - A&W - last time you'll be eating there for a while too too :)

they have A&W in the US too...

They do...but not in the D.C. area, oddly enough. I remember seeing one or two along the way in Western Pennsylvania while driving from D.C. to Buffalo...but they're not as common in that area as they are around Vancouver, at least.

Mind you, I still won't be moving down to D.C. for awhile yet Ant (awaiting the interview...), and there's an A&W about two miles from where I'll be living next. So don't count on today being the last time just yet. :P

yeah I just checked and there isn't many in that area.. there is one that is just under 6 miles from Washington, DC though in Hyattsville, MD

I just rediscovered one of the little joys of moving back to my parents' place (on a very temporary basis! I have to keep telling myself that to avoid going insane):

My mother makes a wonderful roast beef...and so tonight I dined on roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet buns and Yorkshire puddings, covered in thick gravy.

Mmmmmm...burp...mmmmmmm....

We're leaving for Thanksgiving with my in-laws, so I don't want to make anything that is going to require leaving leftovers in my fridge! Going to try and make things the next couple of days that involve using stuff in my fridge so that it's almost empty. Tonight, I'm thinking, peppers and onions with roasted beef strips on chibata buns. Tabouli salad to accompany.

Tonight we are having homemade chicken soup with salad.

Last night I made a fab dessert! I cut up bananas then added whipped cream, chopped white chocolate (or you could use white chocolate chips), and chopped macadamia nuts. Easy peasey and ohsogood.

My mother makes a wonderful roast beef...and so tonight I dined on roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet buns and Yorkshire puddings, covered in thick gravy.

What are sweet buns?

Buns that are made with sweeter dough than sourdough?

I don't think they're actually CALLED sweet buns...they're more like dinner rolls, I guess. But they're sweet, dammit! :P

I am making salsa chicken in the crock pot.. I just sprinkled some spices over the chicken, like oregano, cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder etc and then I poured some salsa over that and then sprinkled a few green onions over top...
