Well, we had the leftover chicken last night, and I cooked up the acorn squash. We've had a few butternut squashes in the last month or so, and I much prefer them over the acorn squash. The acorn squash is much stronger, and tasted like pumpkin! I don't know what I'm going to make tonight though. Maybe a homemade pizza?

Made chili last night - onion, peppers, mushrooms, red beans, pasta sauce, beef with taco chips. Really easy :)

The Lord is my strength and my shield,

My heart trusted in Him and I am helped,

therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

and with my song I will praise Him.

Went to Tony Roma's last night with my family who is visiting for the first time since I moved here :star: I had the Chicken Jack and Bacon sandwich with steamed broccoli and fries, it was really good :)

Tonight we'll probably have lasagna, though I'm not sure yet. I need to start breaking up the tedium and making new things.

Last night we had leftover chicken from Sunday's roast. I warmed it in Swiss Chalet sauce and made some fries to go with it, as well as a salad. I also made a chicken soup from the remainder of the meat and carcass, so I guess that's what we'll have this evening. Soup and salad.

What's a turkey tornado?

It's turkey wrapped in bacon. They're usually made out of chicken, but PC makes yummy turkey ones with maple bacon.

But with turkey instead of chicken

so this year we are doing a turkey for Thanksgiving and I think we are going to do this stuffing... I am not crazy about the stuffing inside the turkey and it is always kind of messy to clean out etc... a lot of the reviews say this stuffing tastes just like the stuffing done in a turkey...

Crock Pot Stuffing Recipe

SERVES 10

* 2 cups chopped onions

* 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced celery

* 1 cup diced tart apple, peeled and cored

* 1/4 cup butter

* 1 tablespoon ground sage

* 1 teaspoon ground marjoram

* 1 teaspoon salt

* 1 teaspoon pepper

* 1/2 teaspoon savory

* 1/2 teaspoon thyme

* 12 cups lightly toasted bread, cubes

* 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

* 1 1/2 cups chicken stock or vegetable stock

1. In a large fry pan saute onions, celery and apple in butter until onion is just translucent.

2. Stir in sage, marjoram, salt, pepper, savory and thyme.

3. Combine vegetable mixture with the bread cubes and parsley.

4. Toss well.

5. Pour stock over mixture, tossing well.

6. Spoon into your crock-pot.

7. Cover and cook on high for one hour.

8. Reduce to low and continue cooking for 2-3 hours, stirring every hour.
