We had leftover pork and I made some hoisan sauce to go with it. Wild and brown rice and brussel sprouts. I'm going to slice up the rest of the pork and freeze it for Gene to eat while I'm away. Tonight I'm going to make zuchinni sausage squares so that Gene can have that while I'm gone as well. I have some labeled leftovers for him to eat while I'm away. Going to make a couple of banana loafs as well for him.

One more sleep, Carla!

Tonight, I made asparagus risotto and a half bottle of wine. ;)

Yum. But wouldn't that wine be too young to drink right now? :hehe:

I changed my mind and made butter chicken curry with basmati rice last night. Tonight we will either have seafood chowder or spaghetti and meatsauce. I'm kind of thinking chowder. Maybe I'll make some artisan bread to go with it. Oooh. Now I'm hungry.

Oh! So exciting! I finally found a good Indian grocer!!! It's called House of Spices, but I was really disappointed to find they only carry one type of black pepper. I wanted to try some non-supermarket gourmet brands. I bought the one they carry, though, and will give that a try. Was disappointed to see they don't carry fresh samosas or pakora. I probably should have asked, though. Maybe they only get them on a certain day. I picked up some aged basmati from Pakistan, though! Looking forward to trying it.

Cool! I'm sure it won't be as good as Golden Groceries on Kerr though :crying: I miss their fresh pakora and samosa

There was no shopping done yesterday, so no curry butternut squash soup for dinner! Instead we had a pretty awful frozen pizza blah! Delisio - I bought 2, i'm not buying them again. I'm not crazy about frozen pizza anyway but these just make a mess of your oven and the taste is meh. Once I get some yeast I will make my own (it's on the shopping list!)

I have to do shopping as well, our fridge is almost empty since we've been away. I don't feel like shopping today though, so I pulled some pork chops out of the freezer and will make that for the hubby with some potatos and broccoli. I will have kraft dinner with cut up veggie dogs :)

I have a quiche in the oven - I used yellow squash, ham, onions, okra, some sweet peppers and then pepperjack cheese and some cheddar on top. I don't know if he will be home early again tonight or not. Everyone was sent home early yesterday with the flooding going on in and around Atlanta - they didn't want anyone on the roads after dark because so many roads were closed. Many are still closed today due to flooding so we will see if he gets home early or not. we're fine here but north of the city - yuck!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ohmygoodness! I had meant to ask you about this and forgot. Thanks for the update. I should get my husband to call his sister to see how they're faring.

We are having the seafood chowder. I picked up some Cuban bread to go with it. I'll let you know what I think of that later. lol. Just waiting for my husband to wake up from his nap. icon2.gif Actually, I think I hear him moving. I guess I'm done here. lol

I don't know why but at first I kept reading marinara as marijuana and I was all: "####### MARILYN?"
