Hubby cooked pork chops in cream of mushroom soup and noodles. Because it was hubby who made dinner, there were no vegetables :( I was too tired to cook some myself, so I think I will eat double veggies tomorrow to make up for it.

Tonight, I made Julia Child's potage parmentier for dinner. Aka, potato and leek soup and for having 5 ingredients in it (leeks, potatoes, water, salt, and butter), it was so good.

That's funny.

We had the leftover ricotta shells last night with a salad. I gave the rest of the shepard's pie to Gene for his lunch today as well, so that's it now for my leftovers. I'll have to see what I can make tonight. The weather looks good for the weekend, so I think we'll probably grill a pork roast. But what to have tonight? hmmm

Yes! Fall vegetables!! I picked up an acorn and a butternut squash this weekend.

That reminds me of the time my husband said he would take care of dinner to give me a night off. He brought home chicken. That was it. Just chicken. So I ended up making the sides to go with it. icon2.gif

Not quite sure what we're having this evening. Got lots of fresh veg in the fridge so I guess I'll start there. I'm thinking acorn squash with pork chops and green beans. And maybe potatoes au gratin.

Oh! So exciting! I finally found a good Indian grocer!!! It's called House of Spices, but I was really disappointed to find they only carry one type of black pepper. I wanted to try some non-supermarket gourmet brands. I bought the one they carry, though, and will give that a try. Was disappointed to see they don't carry fresh samosas or pakora. I probably should have asked, though. Maybe they only get them on a certain day. I picked up some aged basmati from Pakistan, though! Looking forward to trying it.

I picked up a butternut squash the other day too krikit. Going to make a curried butternut squash soup tomorrow.

Tonight I am going to make my vegetarian steamed dumplings. This time though I bought the wonton wrappers because making them is just a pain in the buttocks.

Donne moi une poptart!

Mmmmm. Curried butternut squash soup. That's what I thought I'd do with mine, too! I love soup. :luv: That's probably the only downfall of all these hot sunny days. Soup is my favourite thing to have when it's a dreary day. But I'm adapting. lol
