Mike is making a vegetarian lasagna today.

Very excited.

Yes his ban from the kitchen was lifted after last weekends fiasco.

vegetable stir fry here with lots of zucchini, yellow squash, onions. peppers, eggplant - and whatever else I can find to throw in. I harvested yellow squash this morning - there are already more to be harvested several hours later!

I don't even know yet. I wanted to go to the store, but it's pouring rain.

I also have no meat dethawed and no spaghetti sauce, hooray.

ok, the stir-fry turned into a ratatouille instead - it is simmering on the stove right now - just need to cook the pasta.

We had green onion cakes and summer rolls. I was too lazy to make a dipping sauce, so we just used plain hoisin. We planted an herb garden a few weeks ago and used the herbs from there tonight. They were delish!

I concocted a lovely rub for a pork roast yesterday and had that marinating for several hours. Put it on the grill, indirect heat for about 40 minutes and brushed with a made-up sauce. It was spectacular. Roasted rosemary garlic potato wedges in the over and had steamed broccoli with that. It was A-1. Tonight, I suppose leftover pork roast. Don't know how I'll do it, maybe some type of rice salad with it.

I love rice, it's one of my favourite foods.

So tonight we are going to grab some food from Fridays - since we will be at the hotel at that point. Not sure what we will have!

Nev, what's the recipe for the brussel sprouts? Personally, I don't like them (but am willing to give them another shot), but every time we visit hubby's family, they always have a dish of them. So, I guess I should be a good wifey one of these days and make him some. I have actually never cooked them in my life though, so HELP!!! :)

A good way to cut down on the strong flavour is to cook them in chicken broth, drain, then put in a pat of butter and coat. Another thing to keep in mind is that the little ones have some sweetness to them so aren't as strong tasting.

I have no idea what we will be having for supper. I have some romaine left so maybe I'll make a caesar salad and something.

I never liked brussel sprouts when I was a kid, or a young adult, but now that I'm an OLDER adult  I love them. I cut them in half, lengthwise, and fry them in a little olive oil/butter mixture on the stove top with minced garlic. Wow, they are SO delicious. You don't parboil them, so they're still a little firm, but not raw, and they're crispy on the outside. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hubby called...a friend gave him a pack of frozen venison cubed steaks. He wants that for supper. I've eaten venison before but not so sure I want it tonight. Not sure what to fix with it...maybe a stir fry or maybe I could make them into a swiss steak type dish. Then again, not sure how he wants to eat them.

Maybe I'll wait til he gets home and let him decide. :D

Ehh I am going to have a veggie burger and onion rings.

My husbands vegetarian lasagna was okay but not a hit with me so he said he'll eat it all week.

I think its the first thing he's made that I haven't been fond of.

Okay the truth..

I found a hair in it okay? When I find a hair in something I can't eat the rest of it. Yes it was his hair but it still grosses me out. I have major issues, I know! I will work on getting them fixed one day. It was actually quite tasty but ya... I find a hair in food and I won't eat it anymore.
