I'm often tempted... especially when he's late! As if clients are more important than a hungry wife, haha

IS there a difference between a rice steamer and a rice cooker? If there isn't, we also have one that was really cheap... I think it's B&D

Maybe we don't have a proper steamer? I'm not sure how I would cook rice in it, because of the slats in the trays? Is there a secret or do I just have a steamer-wannabe? :(

I just made banana bread... yummmmmmmm!

I find sometimes it comes out more dry than other times. I thought perhaps it was if the bananas weren't ripe enough, the bread would turn out more dry. Does anyone else find this?

We have been on a Le Creuset jag ourselves...we decided we needed better cookware so we've gotten a few pieces each time we hit the outlet mall (Yay Leesburg outlets)...can we say $$$$....but they do heat more evenly. And heck - they're purty!

Mine always turns out too moist if anything but thankfully my son prefers it that way. (It is his constant request when I travel back to Canada :) ) I have read that mixing too much can cause dryness, try mixing the batter by hand just until moistened and see if that helps.

I have never had bad rice with my rice cooker and it is so easy to use but I love, love, love my KitchenAid stand mixer more. wub.gif

I had such a hard time deciding between Le Creuset and Staub. I really liked the colors of LC but didn't care too much for the white/beige enamel on the inside. Plus Staub is a tad bit cheaper than LC for the same quality. I eventually hope to replace all my non-stick pieces to staub, except for a couple of egg pans.

I have used my staub only once so far and I felt like I was using more oil than normal to stop the food from sticking in the bottom. I read somewhere that it gets seasoned over time and sticks less. Is that true?

I want a kitchenaid stand mixer so bad...

Me too :( But I dont bake enough to justify spending so much money on it.

I find that the recipes with oil as an ingredient come out much moister than without. I always start out with frozen bananas, too. But they only get frozen if they're past the point of when I'm going to eat them. Do you use fresh?

I have never had bad rice with my rice cooker and it is so easy to use but I love, love, love my KitchenAid stand mixer more. wub.gif

*jealous*

Well, last night's spaghetti and meatballs were Fan. Tastic. I have no idea what we're having this evening. Need to look in the fridge and freezer and take it from there.
