i just wanted to say..i love my purity cookbook..i had lost it many years ago in a move..and i got an updated / replacement one fro christmas..Mmmm yummy goodies in there! I made a homeade beef soup with the leftover prime rib bones that i had frozen after xmas, we're in between pays and with the 800$ vet bill and 400$ car bill, kinda short on money, so i grabbed the last of our carrots celery onions frozen corn, brocoli and some rice and threw it in their too. and i made some homeade teabiscuits, and scones with raisons for breakfast..David has never had teabiscuits or scones and they are sooo easy to make. then i baked some chocolate drop cookies, and i think i'm going to make 2 recipes each week from my book :)

I love how some of my recipes have become recipes that other people seem to make on a regular basis :D

I think someone else has made my ugly naked chicken recipe a few times too ...

tonight we are having chicken that I am marinating in a mixture of garlic cloves, honey, soy sauce, spicy brown mustard, lemon juice, black pepper and ketchup.. will serve that with potatoes (i am going to use my vegetable grill recipe) and some green onions that I have in the fridge that I need to use up... will be doing this all on the grill

It was so cold today and so I made a big pot of ciopinno and served it with crusty sourdough and a bottle of pinot griogio. I threw in some cod, mussels, clams, dungness crab and shrimp in the ciopinno, and my husband who normally complains that seafood is "too fishy" ate most of it.

I found these new awesome Jack Daniels marinade bags at the grocery store so we had mesquite chicken breasts and mashed potatoes. After falling on my hill last night and hitting my head on solid ice that's all I had the heart to make. :/

I heart your ugly naked chicken :) That and a Tamale pie recipe you had which used a box of cornbread mix for the topping...one of my husband's favourites.

And here is me saying the same thing last Sept :D

Thank goodness I had my crockpot going today - after fighting traffic for an hour and a half it was nice to come home to falling-apart pineapple-ginger pork!

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

Last night we had a roast chicken dinner so tonight we are having leftover chicken with swiss chalet sauce and french fries and carrot and celery sticks with bluecheese dip. I also started a chicken stock with the carcass and some veg so tomorrow we will have soup.

When I was at the airport I picked up a Canadian Living magazine from the lounge. They had tons of great recipes in there. I tried the lemon pound cake recipe on Saturday. OMG, it was scrumptious! It was the Christmas mag so now I have tons more recipes for next year. Yay!

easy chicken pot pie for dinner today..

chicken pot pie - take some cooked chicken, some veggies, a can of cream of chicken soup and mix together and place in casserole or baking dish.... then take a cup of all-purpose baking mix and stir in 1/2 cup of milk and 1 egg and pour over chicken mixture and then bake...

for veggies I used some stir-fried veggies that were leftover from our omelets the other day, plus I added another squash, that I fried a little and then some frozen corn, peas and carrots..
