Deviled Chicken

* 1/2 cup ketchup

* 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

* 2 tablespoons brown sugar

* 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

* 1 tablespoon water

* 2 tablespoons oil

* 1 (appr. 3 lbs) broiler chicken, cut up, or equivalent chicken parts

In a small bowl, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard and water; stir to blend well. Heat oil in a large skillet; add chicken and brown well on both sides, about 15 minutes. Remove chicken to a shallow baking pan. Pour off fat in skillet; add ketchup sauce mixture, stirring to loosen browned particles in bottom of pan. Pour sauce over the chicken. Cover with foil and bake in preheated 350° oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil; continue to bake until chicken is tender, about 10 to 15 minutes longer.

Deviled chicken recipe serves 4.

Ok now i'm trying to decide between chili and rice or waffles.

They both have their own merits.

Waffles for dinner? :huh: Like the kind with the syrup?

Now i'm thinking we might have waffles for dinner!

I have chicken, as in chicken breast, I was thinking of making chicken....something. I really want waffles though, for no particular reason, I don't even like waffles that much :lol:

That's bizarre. Because I suddenly got a waffle craving the other day and we had them for late night snack. And I don't really like waffles, either. :lol:

If chickens were traded on the stock market I'd buy shares. :)

Last night's supper was stupendous. I have used some of the leftovers for a chicken and broccoli gratin for this evening's meal. I also made Paula Dean's Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars. They were some yum. I even made my own caramel sauce because I don't keep that kind of thing in the cupboard. lol. Oh, and I also made a lemon ginger creme brulee for tonight's dessert. I was on a roll. lol. It's unfortunate that my husband is a dessert man. I never ate dessert before I married him. I hold him personally responsible for my weight gain. :angry:

Yesterday I was training some new volunteers so was out for most of the day. I took out a frozen spinach/mushroom pizza and made a salad. I feel a little guilty doing things like that, but I told Gene, I'll try and get over it. :lol:

Tonight some chicken tenders, think I'll see about a lemon sauce I saw in a magazine for it, some rice, and some leftover salad.
