I got a RFE for my form I-864. It is asking for the W2s and 1099s of my joint sponsor. The thing is that I live in Bridgeport CT and my sponsor in Fairbanks Alaska... its going to take a while to get it from her...

my question is:

can I respond to this RFE with a I-864 signed by another joint sponsor with all the supporting documentation??

or on this application my only choice is to keep the sponsor that I already submitted an try to get all the support ducumentation from her?

I don't see why not - if you do choose to go down this path - I would be inclined to include a brief explanation as to why the new co-sponsor. Something to the effect of "Original co-sponsor's supporting documents unavailable or delayed.

Otherwise - as stated above - faxed copies should do fine as well (from Alaska).

It would be great if I could get all the documentation by fax. The thing is that I already submited everything she has in hands to the USCIS. In order to get the rest of the paperwork I guess she would need to request it to the IRS and it would take a couple weeks till she get it and she would need to send me that which would take a few days.

I already have someone else to sign the I-864. Just want to be sure that it is not going to be denied.

I think I read that the IRS can fax transcripts on the same day. Just have your joint sponsor call to request them, and give them your fax number? Then on the cover letter you include with your RFE response say they aren't available, submitting transcripts in support instead.

Request transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040
