Lupy-that is just the date we exchanged the ring, or the date I was officially engaged. There was no mention of these things on my petition so no reason for that to prolong my process. I am just one of the unfortunate ones that is being made to wait the entire 6 months.

LilMermaid-I totally know what you mean! If I was marrying a guy here, we would've done everything the traditional way...but LDR are anything but traditional, so you have to do things different ways sometimes.

Like I mentioned before, my case is with a supervisor now, so the next update I expect to hear is that my case has been approved.

I don't understand why your case is taking sooo long?? I filed long after you for the same country and I have already received my Noa2. It's actually already at Santo Domingo. Have you asked to speak with a supervisor because that's definitely not fair to you. Specially if people who filed long after you did are already being approved... Isn't it supposed to be first in first out?

Yeah too much drama. But it is really good for info specifically about the DR consulate and the way things work down there.

Yeah, I can't wait until all the paperwork and everything is done and over with so I can just sit back and relax with my soon to be husband. Hopefully you'll be on your way soon. Once you are pass Vermont everything is much faster... thank god! My fingers are crossed for you!! Good Luck!

Was your petition really thick with information? They say that if the petitions are really thick with excessive information they take their time before they want to deal with it.

Also I don't know what all the fufu is about rings/no rings/engaged/pledged. Although I've seen some questionable things on VJ before I just don't think anyone is really going to fill out their K1 petition and say "oh and yeah, we're not really engaged" so I don't know what the questions were for from the other posters :huh:
