Im married to a US Citizen and we have a 6 month old daughter who was born in the Philippines while our petition was on process. Is she automatic US Citizen or do i need to file anything to US Embassy here in Manila? I already faxed a copy of her Birth Certificate to the US Embassy Manila for updates. What else should I do?

Yes, their is a specific procedure to follow. Go to the manila website and look at the procedure for filing for a consular report of birth abroad (CRBA)

My 11 month old son was born in the Philippines and is a US citizen. All you have to do is file the CRBA for the baby as he is not automatically a citizen/ Ask Yhen.

Paperwork is a lot easier if a daughter is born of an illegal in the USA. Like none, just a birth certificate and free when community services and Medicaid pick up the tab. I know this isn't helpful, but does say something about our laws that should be corrected.

Wish more people would write their congressman to question these laws, but most of us tend to just obey them. Some I know had to pay 460 bucks to file the N-600 if their USC child was not born in the USA. Plus the delays.
