Concern Filipina

I won't tolerate Filipina bashing. I hope none of you will tolerate it either. Filipinas have done nothing to deserve that kind of treatment.

Filipinas were not bragging about themselves on the thread that was just locked. It was their husbands or fiancés who were commenting on how Filipinas are the best. They mainly did that in response to some posters who attacked Filipinas.

I'm proud that Filipinas defend themselves, and I'm proud of the men who have their back. You guys rock!

Standing up against bigotry, stereotyping, and prejudice is the right thing to do because those attitudes have no place in VJ nor in life. The world will not be a better place if these issues go unchallenged.

There almost certainly will be another thread that bashes Filipinas. The next time it happens, I hope a VJ moderator will close it down quickly. If they don't close it, we have every right (and an obligation) to defend ourselves and our loved ones.

i totally agree with u.but i just have some concerns here.why is it that mods allow insults thrown at us and when we answer back ..we get a notice of disapproval?im just askin...like at the other thread...we were so insulted by this woman from d iron curtain and when i answered back i got a notice?and to think that comparing to the words i used is just a speck to the words she hurled at filipinas..unfair

:yes: Some are very subtle with their comments and some are very outright rude. Some are smart aleck and some are smarty pants. I guess it's up to us to figure it out. No offense to the one who post this. She has a right to say say what's on her mind. But then she underestimated the consequences. Different folks for different strokes. I'll say quit don't get too dander up when you get a violent reaction. What did she expect anyway? An olive branch? Peace!

I think some people are really like that. They like provoking people just because they want to test you or they are just really not well-informed. Once they are enlightened, they will PM you and apologize. It happened to me also here in VJ. Though I didn't appreciate what those people said in the forum, I think the mere fact that they reached out to apologize is good enough for me. I know it's difficult to anyone to accept that he was wrong or that he was sorry, even in PMs. That's the reason why some really won't bother at all especially if they don't even know you. I think for someone to reach out like that, it really says a lot about that person's character

i don't think so.... maybe i just have more rigid sets of morals. If you have the nerve to disrespect a person in public and you found out you are wrong.. you should have the balls to admit that you made a mistake in public as well. But as I said, I did let it go and accepted the apology... however, I can't say the two of us (the one who called me a racist) will ever be friends, not in the internet world and certainly not in real life - I just have a higher standard of values I guess.

We all have our standards, mine's a bit different. I'm just that way... everybody is entitled to their own opinions.

Looks like matindi talaga ginawa sau at sobrang galit ka... I can't blame you though. I think it depends on the degree and of course how it was said. If it's really too much, gyera patani. But for me, wala naman kasing masamang tinapay so as long as I see that the person is sorry, that's already ok with me, especially if I don't really know the person. Though I would be more upset if I know him personally and he does something like that.

its good to know that you've raised this concerns and issues but its good to take responsible actions too than giving counter attacks. we do have a TOS to follow, pls do read them before replying to someone else's post. and again report them.

On my experience naman, in fairness to those who PM me, though they were a pain in the thread for awhile, they did mellow-down after a while to the point that they were being nice already. So even if they didn't apologize in the thread, it was ok with me already.

It's good that those threads got closed. Hopefully, those trolls who love to start those non-sense threads have learned their lesson.

They should know better now....Don't mess with Pinays! We are loveable but we can be a too, and will always stand up for fellow Pinays.

I have read a lot of pinay-bashing threads. Most of the time, I just ignore them..though, sometimes, it's fun to annoy most of the trolls.

Anyway, let's get back to helping each other with our visa journey.

I am a member of this forum for more than a couple of years now. I don't usually respond to threads that I am not interested to specially if I know or think that the thread will cause a fire. I was taught by my parents and my grandma not say a word if I will only hurt someone and if I've got nothing to say good BUT they also told me to defend myself if I think I am being attacked or if things are getting below the belt na.

Personally, I like making friends to people but i can also be "mataray" if i have to. I reported a member once because of his immoral attitude and I am glad that justice prevailed and he got suspended. Then from then on, I told myself that I'll just ignore people like him as it is a waste of time arguing with nonsense people.

This past few days eh mejo pass muna ako sa mga maiinit na thread as I want to have a stress free pregnancy hehe. That's why I didn't read the whole content of thread that has been closed although masaya naman ako at nakita ko na nagkakaisa ang mga pinay

I would just like to clarify that mods do not "allow" any behaviour which violates the Terms of Service. Just because you are not aware of any actions taken behind the scene, does not mean that consequences are not being enforced.

I totally agree with Krikit..... The Mods do an excellent job here on VJ. Sometimes it is hard for them to be 2 places at one time. I wouldn't want their job.... NO WAY!!!

I would just like to clarify that mods do not "allow" any behaviour which violates the Terms of Service. Just because you are not aware of any actions taken behind the scene, does not mean that consequences are not being enforced.

I lost my feeling of self-assurance on the mods a long time ago! That was after my account was suspended twice (one for 12 hours and the other for 1 week) but I believe nothing was done to the regular phantoms and gangsters and Filipina bashers who were involved in the fracas.
