Packet from the embassy

My fiance got his packet from the embassy in Tunis and there are a LOT of forms to fill out. The instructions say to return only DS-230 part 1 and DS-2001 now and keep the rest for his medical exam and interview. Here's my question.... should DS-230 part 2 not go with part 1 since it seems they are part of the same form? What is DS-2001? It's not in the packet at all. When he called to ask them a man told him not to worry about it and they would fill it out when they get DS-230 back from him but WHY do the instructions say it is something that needs to be filled out and returned??

It also says that I (the petitioner) will be getting something about the affidavit of support in the mail and that's all it mentioned about it. I haven't gotten anything yet and it's been almost a month. I emailed the embassy/consule before he even got the packet and STILL haven't heard back from them so I don't think emailing again will get me anywhere.

Anyone know what DS-2001 is and where I can get it if it's something he needs to fill out and return?

Should I go ahead and mail him the affidavit of support just to be safe?

Has anyone gone through this embassy and can kind of tell me what to expect?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Layla

Hi,

The 2nd part of form DS230 is to be filled by you prior to the interview and for you to take it with you and then sign it in fron of the CO.

The DS-2001 is a form you have to fill in and use to let the Embassy know that you have gathered all the necessary docs and are ready for the interview.

You send these 2 forms ONLY no attached docs or anything else.

As for the I864 question, I don't really know what you mean by it... So sorry I cannot help on that one...

Good luck!
