I am a US Permanent Resident, I just came to the US in November 2008. I was wondering is it possible for me to sponsor my brother to the US. My brother is from Canada. If I can, what paperwork would I need to fill out? Thank you for all your help.

A Legal Permanent Resident can only petition for a spouse and unmarried children. Only US citizens can sponsor a sibling. Sorry.

Thank you for the response, I really appreciate it. Another question, my husband is a US citizen can he sponsor my brother?

No your husband can not sponsor in-laws. When you can become a citizen you may sponsor your brother but it will take many years for him to get a visa to enter the US to live here.

Your Brother will be in Visa Category F4 and at the moment they are issuing visa's to people with a priority date of October 1998. So you are looking at 11 years+ from when you are able to file for him.

See here for the current visa dates http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin...letin_4512.html

Read the I-130 to see which family member a USC or LPR can sponsor for a visa; http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=...ncwVRnI1UJkzBQg
