My husband has to file his taxes for school/financial aid. I went to my local office on Tuesday and everything went fine. I was told to come back on Friday for a copy of the number. My husband has since been trying to file his taxes online with turbo tax but he keeps getting an error message, based on my social security number. Could the number still not be in the system? We need to get our taxes filed immediately or else he will not get financial aid for school next semester.

HELP!

Yes there could be a delay. SS needs to communicate with IRS - which happens within 2 weeks I've heard. And then Turbo Tax needs to get the update from IRS.

My suggestion - mail in the return. Provide a printed out copy with the financial aid package.
