As others have said the terror watch list isn't perfect... there are many completely innocent individuals on it. For example every time I flew with another Army officer he had trouble at the airline because another person with the same name was on the watch list. I can't support a law that casts a wide net & grabs innocent people along with guilty ones.

With that being said I support the current Lautenberg amendment (it prevents individuals convicted of domestic violence of owning a firearm). I know this because if someone in the Army is convicted of domestic violence he is processed for separation (kind of important to be able to use a weapon if you are in the Army).

I actually think this is quite funny.

These same 'watch lists' are the ones who incorrectly identify foreign born persons that cause mega delays with visa petitions. The same bullsh*t bureaucratic nonsense that cause foreign born persons who follow the legal path to residency in the US to wait YEARS for the government to clear them for a greencard.

I say give a few gun-toting USC's the same sh*tty treatment the government has been giving to aliens. Maybe then we would all see some changes to "labeling" people because of their surname or country of origin.

You spoke my mind. Thanks.

lautenberg sets the bar too low. "domestic violence" does not need to contain any element of violence at all for lautenberg to come into play. "domestic violence" charges have become standard fare in divorce cases, and are often fabricated as a method for angry seperated wives to lash out against men. no actual victimisation is required - just testimony that "he scared me".
