I was researching some different satelite service providers for Philippine TV stations in the U.S.A and was wondering if anyone in VJ has recommendations. The service company I am most interested in is http://www.filipinotvchannel.com/. Has anyone used this service provider? Share other experiences with other providers if you have any.

I saw some post's regarding Philippine channels via Satelite a while back, but I couldn't find them doing a search.

Thanks

Wyatt and Kugeng

You can call the customer service of your cable channel provider for additional Filipino channel. Like in Comcast, they have The Filipino Channel (ABS-CBN) and Pinoy TV (GMA 7), they charge additional $14 a month.

the filipina channel (TFC) has whats called TFC Now it is an online video streaming service where you can watch filipino shows via windows media player.. premium edition is 13 a month other packages are less down to 6 a month. Direct Tv has TFC also but you have to have basic package then buy the TFC package in addition. Dish has VIVA network as well. You can buy a stand alone satilite system but that will cost 350 at least (since the last time i had it installed)

the cheapest seems to me is the online video streaming option

Hello Wyatt,

We just subscribed TFC last week and it's 15$ a month. Watching TFC makes me feel like im just in the Philippines. Surely Kugeng will like to have this too. But when I was in Japan, ive been watching Filipino shows from www.pinoychannel.tv for free, some people post shows there. Not as good as TFC but its for free.

Is it $14 per channel? or $14 for both of them (ABS-CBN $ GMA 7)? :)

I am a installer of both directv and dish. have contracted for comcast in michigan in the past also.

I think in the states , directv has the best ph programming. dish lacks ANC as of now. i have emailed them though about getting it.

Thanks for the responses. We are going to live in a remote part of Texas on 35 acres I bought about 7 years ago. My house is over 300 meters from the private access road. There is no cable TV or wired internet. I use a Cingular air card for internet, so streaming video is very slow and really not an option. I currently have Direct TV satellite that runs $50.00 a month. I absolutely have to have my Astros baseball (lol). Anyways I was quoted by Direct TV an additional $25.00 dollars a month to add Philippine channels for a total of $75.00 a month. Then I found the satellite service provider I posted the link to while surfing the net. It seems just for a little additional per month I can still get my Astros baseball, Philippine channels and alot more bang for my buck. The problem is I have never heard of this company before? I guess I will take the chance and see how it works out. I want the best deal I can get, but since I have lived in the RP I have an ideal of what she is going to go through adjusting. The seclusion of where I live makes Philippine channels a necessity not just an option. One of my expat friends and his Pinay wife built a house on the property next to mine. So when his RP assignment is over with in 2011, my fiance/wife will have a Bisaya speaking Filipina to hang out with close by.

My husband and I are both of Filipino lineage but we don't watch Filipino TV. We don't have the intention of subscribing to it either, as it will just make us homesick. We are in America now and we have to watch what's available to the general public. I am content with The Young And The Restless and other daytime soap operas, and at night time I join him in viewing game shows, Diamondbacks baseball and the news. And on weekends, if time allows, I let him watch golf, NASCAR races and women's tennis while I tinker around the house.

You could try satellite dish. We have a french friend here who watch frech channels using dish. You could try to talk with dish company if their satelitte could catch filipino channel.
