That has become my M.O., too. Go to the guide, copy & paste, then go to the USCIS and other reference sites to fill in the gaps. :)

Humm, this is a very interesting question. Has anyone not sent a certified copy and recieved an RFE? The instructions seem to indicate you don't need one, but the guides on VJ seem to indicate otherwise...

I sent a copy of my marriage certificate and brought the certified copy to the interview. It never came up. So, sending a copy for me was fine.

I wonder if a certified copy, costs a lot more?

We took a drive up to OCNJ yesterday and applied for our marriage license.. I pride myself on always being prepared...after driving 1.5 hours, we walk in and start filling it out, only to realize that I FORGET MY DIVORCE DECREE!!!! :(

Thankfully the lady was super nice and said to just bring it the day we pick up our license.... PHEW! :)

They are also allowing us to take in the signed license the day after our wedding and get a copy of the certificate on the spot :)

I'm going to be preparing my AOS package in a couple of weeks, and I will run my list by you guys before I send it in.....I will TOTALLY need the help of all you wonderful folks :)

It's been so cloudy these past few weeks, I really hope the weather is nice on July 7th for our beach wedding....we want some nice sunset photos :)

Is there anything, other than the form (and a printout of the info saying a K1 IS eligible) that we need to take to the SSN office tomorrow morning?

Good call... but we went anyway - thought the offices would be closed Monday, not Friday! lol Here's the even funnier part... the address in Pontiac, was 1280 Pontiac Road. Well, there was a bar on the corner (not sure of the address) and then an office building with the address of 1270... NO BUILDING where there should have been a 1280. So, you might even want to call to make sure the office still exists! We're going to go to another office on Monday morning. Good times. LOL

I got lost in Pontiac once. Mapquest told me to turn one way when I was supposed to go another. With the bars on all the windows except for the ones that were boarded up, I was too scared to ask for directions.

Edit: It just occured to me that I was on the way to an Ozzfest concert in black lipstick and a leather collar with one inch spikes and I was scared of the people in that part of Pontiac.

Well so far seems that me only sending in 2 passport photos with my AOS package and not 2 for each(AOS and EAD) hasn't been a problem .. my case was transfered to CSC ... i figured someone would have sent me an RFE or sent it all back before then .. but who knows .. maybe will still have them complain about it .. got my bio appt next week and stuff sent to the CSC everything moving along quite well ... hey they even spelled my middle name wrong in the bio appt letter i called the 1-800# on tuesday and already got something in the mail today stating they corrected it ... they must be liking me or something

That's good.... but CSC only handles AOS I believe, not EAD/AP. EAD/AP are handled out of another USCIS office. So it's still possible you may, even though your case was transferred. I hope you don't though!

I don't know why you have to send in pics for EAD... they use the picture from your bio appt on the EAD card.
