Oh! Oh! Does anyone know how to fold a fitted sheet properly? I tried following Martha's step-by-step guide and it still comes out a mess.

Speaking of Martha.... Is that book any good, Cat?

And yes, I have tried to fitted sheet folding, and it usually just ends up balled up in the closet.

But the book is incredible. She even shows 3 ways to stack wood. I didn't know there was more than one way.

She tells you have to clean pots properly depending on the surface type.

She even gives a cleaning schedule depending on the week, month, season. . . .

I mean, I think a lot of people know these things. But I grew up with parents who were out of the house a lot and we never learned any of these things. We knew the vacuum and the dishwasher. That was pretty much it. So this book taught me a lot.

Great Thread Tmixy

I pour left over Coke in the toilet and let it sit for 5 minutes. I leaves a clean toilet without any scrubbing. The citric acid breaks down everything on the sides of the bowl.

Also good for cleaning the terminals on your car battery.. lol (Pepsi doesn't work... lol)

Also - the microwave thing - have always used a microwave safe mug filled with water - set for several minutes so it steams up inside (bot don't let it go empty - that would be bad). Makes cleaning the insides really easy (wipe and go kind of thing).

Another microwave hint... reheating pizza?? Leave pizza in ziploc bag. Add 2 or 3 folded wet paper towels to the inside of the ziploc bag. Zip about 85%-95% closed. Then, heat on 60% power for about 2 minutes (depends on wattage of microwave). Pizza crust is warm and edible... not hard and dry. :)

Oh! I was watching America's Test Kitchen this morning and they did a segment on pizza! They said in order to reheat pizza where you get a nice crispy crust again, put it in a teflon pan, cover it, and cook on medium for 5 mins. I'm going to try that the next time I have leftover pizza. :)

And now, since I saw that pizza segment, I'm going to make my own deep-dish pizza either today or tomorrow.

Well, since we are talking about cleaning, I thought, oh I should go and throw some vinegar in the bathroom sink as it had a little bit of hard water build up around the drain.

Sooo i go in there an put a bit of vinegar and baking soda on it and leave it for a few minutes before scrubbing it - all good. Of course now I clean the sink surround and the taps etc.

Well - some of the finish on the faux nickle finish taps came off!!

Anyone know a good product for repairing faux nickle finish taps

Hmmm... on the days I do get the folding right, I don't do it that way. Then again, I'm not sure how I do it. Perhaps that is why I DON'T always get it right.

Okay, off to watch the video now. I have a fitted sheet in the dryer.

Mine isn't in the dryer yet. It is still in the washing machine. Should be almost done, though!
