Interview Question

My wife and daughter went for their interview and they answered their questions, but we were told after the interview we needed to bring some additional documentation. This documentation was not on the letter we received, nor was it on the Department of State website checklist. Is this normal?

If your police certificate is still valid for another month, why would they request a new police certificate?

If you are married, why would the embassy request the document stating you were eligible to marry?

If your medical comes back with an issue, would they wait until the interview to inform you or would either the hospital or the embassy inform you in advance so that whatever action is necessary can be taken to prevent whatever the issue is from getting worse?

If your police certificate is still valid for another month, why would they request a new police certificate? If they asked for this perhaps the reason is as simple as they want a more recent certification.

If you are married, why would the embassy request the document stating you were eligible to marry? Unknown - is it possible one/both of you were previously married?

It isn't a 'secret' medical

Any questions/documents the CO request should be given. So if they ask for PC or any other docs please submit.

Yes this is what they requested. They also requested documentation that my medical insurance would take care of whatever this medical issue is which they have yet to tell us about. I'm active duty military so we go through tri-care, basically we have our own doctors, if it is something outside of what our doctors can perform, tri-care will pay for a civilian doctor who can take care of the problem. Tri-care will only add my dependents once they arrive here to the base I'm stationed at. Thanks for your assistance. I believe we were approved it's just they're requesting this info after the interview, if they would have requested it prior we could have gotten it and been able to receive our visas rather than being delayed.
