ok so, admittedly, I may be having a bit too much vodka today.

(my plans for the 4th are as follows: get drunk, play with explosives)

but I'm sitting here, just thinking about my SO. He's off in England, working today (for some odd reason, they don't get the day off to celebrate the fact we totally KICKED THEIR A$$ES!) but I can't stop thinking about how much I love him.

I want to know... what are your reasons for loving your SO?

I love him becuase he sees me as I am. He may not like all of what he sees, but this is the me he loves, and he doesn't want to change me.

I love him becuase he is so grounded in reality. I'm usually floating off on a cloud somewhere, but I can usually count on him to help me see what I need to do to take care of business here on earth.

I love him becuase he loves life, and wants to share that experience of living, really living with me. And becuase I feel like I had forgotten how to really live until I met him.

I love him becuase he would do anything to be with me. Time and again he has emptied his pockets just to spend a couple of weeks with me, and he has been planning on leaving everything he knows to go to a strange place, and take on two kids he never wanted, just so he can be with me every day.

I love him becuase he is who he is. He has shown me his secrets, and I've shared mine with him. We are bound together by secrets shared, and by a life together that still lies ahead. No one has known me so completely, or shown me as much respect and love.

There's more... but those are the kind of things I would spend the night whispering in his ear...

That's AWESOME! He is one lucky guy!

I love my Jinky's laugh, her silly sense of humor, that she's always cracking jokes. I love that several months later she will try to tell me the same joke again. I love when she yells in the phone sarcastically, "That was a joke! You laugh!" when I don't laugh right away.

I love when she calls my office at work just to say goodmorning with her sleepy voice. I love when she leaves messages on my home phone to tell me she's thinking about me. I love when she sends me cards (always 3 at a time) that she carefully hand picks to say deep things about what our relationship means to her. I love the little drawings she includes in the cards, the photos, and pressed flowers.

I love to hear her say, 'I love you' even if it's already the 10th time in one phone conversation. I love to see her infectious smile when she is on the webcam - it makes my heart melt every time. I love that she thinks I'm so guapo (handsome) in her eyes, that she types out, "Ayeeeeeeeeeeeee!" when she sees me on the webcam. I love that we have our secret little sayings to each other. I love that she really is my best friend and accepts me for who I am. I love that she wants to spend her life with me. I love this chance to know such a wonderful human being and I can't wait to spend a lifetime of being her partner through all of life's challenges.

I love him:

because he thinks I am beautiful and tells me so.

because he wants to explore the world with me.

because he encourages me to do anything and everything to better my life.

because he picks me up when I am down.

because he is desperatly soppy and romantic.

he is so loving towards his family.

he wants to be a father some day.

he loves and appreciates music.

he goes out of his way to planning trips with me.

He kisses my shoulder goodnight when I have fallen asleep before him and he doesn't want to disturb me.

I love that he kisses my forehead at the airport when I am crying.

I love that he laughs hysterically at certian comedians...

I love he takes me fishing...and hiking and rafting...

that he lets me do girly things as well.

I love that he loves my cooking.

That he doesn't get mad when I nag him about spilling on my sofa.

I love that he brings me a stone from every hike he does.

I love that he stays up till early hours just to talk to me and see how my day has been.

This could go on forever, I have a million reasons...

But I love Chris because he believes in me more then I have ever believed in myself. Because he is my best friend, and because my heart aches and is empty when he is gone.

AND now...I am sad...in a good way though.

I love my Papaki (little duck) because he says things that amaze me that he thinks the same way I do.

I love that he knows me so well that he tells me things I didn't even realize about my self.

I love that he thinks I am the most beautiful woman in his life.

I love that he tells me he has never loved a woman like he loves me. He says I have magic over him.

He tells me that I am the one that makes him strong, that I am the one that gives him pomoni (patience) and pisti (faith).

I love that he prays for us.

I love that he sings for me and says romantic things to me in Greek.

I love that he thinks about me just as much as I think of him. EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY!

I love that his friends tell me to PLEASE TAKE YOUR MAN, WE CAN'T STAND LISTENING TO HIM TALK ABOUT YOU ALL THE TIME.

I love that he comes from such a loving, beautiful family.

I love that he loves the little things in life and he appreciates so much.

I love that he is just as mushy, passionate and affectionate as I am.

And lastly, I love that he told me the last night before I left him on our first week of meeting that he is in love with me and that he knew that I am his wife and his other half.

P.S. I didn't believe a thing he said on that night until he opened his phone to take down my phone number. When he did this the back drop showed two roses side by side. My prayer to God, for years now, was to have the sign of the rose show up when I meet the right man. That is when I realized this man was not just talking but the right one for me. My prayer was answered.

now why do i love nessa?

1. she's one smart lady. she kicks my butt in about every yahoo game we play. it's rather humbling to get beat at literati 99% of the time when english is a second language to her.

2. she thinks i'm a prince, even though i think i'm a frog.

4. she might get mad at me but she won't stop loving me

5. she says the cutest things in portuguese to me

6. nessa makes me all mushy as a few in vj have noticed

Here's a lesson in what defines the differences between England and the U.S.A.

There is no national holiday in England to celebrate any of our victories, because we tend not to celebrate the victory, but instead give memorial to those that died in war.

We have one day, Remembrance day, where the nation remains silent for two minutes to honour those that gave their lives.

We give silently, and with dignity, our gratitude, and mourn those that died for our freedom.

We leave the whooping, hollering, and general vainglorious behavior to those that do it best.
