I never had to do one and was wondering from people who have how long does it usually take to get a date. I'm trying to make sure I schedule it in time before I leave the country.

The situation is that I'm waiting for my Green Card to arrive but with current delays I'm not positive it will arrive before August 17th. I don't want to schedule an appointment too soon just to have the card arrive, but I don't want to leave it to too close to find an appointment date open before my trip.

Anyone know if it's a constant between field offices the lapse of time from making the infopass to the actual appointment? Or if at the site I have the option to choose the date?

Two weeks out sounds reasonable. I can wait until the end of July then and see if the card arrives by then.
