Hello! I'm happy to see another June K-3 filer! Let's stay in touch! Best of luck! We're still waiting for our NOA1! I've been somewhat addicted to collecting documents for the interview already. I printed 98 pages of emails yesterday just from one address! -Probably an overkill, but what can you do? :)

LadyGwen,

When you receive your NOA1 you would need to file the 129f if you want to petition for your spouse to enter the country with a K-3 visa. If you are applying for the CR-1/IR-1 visa, then you only need to file the I-130. You might be interested in reading the pros and cons of the two types of visas at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=compare . There are also many threads that discuss the differences. Originally the K-3 visa was created to unite families faster. Now, the processing times are similar for the visas, and it seems that most applicants opt for the CR-1/IR-1 because it is less expensive, and gives the immigrant more rights immediately upon entry to the US. If you do file the 129f, you can still decide to pursue only the CR-1/IR-1 visa and not pursue the K-3. We chose to go for the K-3 because it might unite us 1 or 2 months sooner (we hope). The money is a wash for us because I have been visiting so much! ...Hope this helps!

Hi June Filers,

I sent the I-130 petition for my spouse last June 16, but still, I haven't receive any NOA nor the check wasn't been cashed.

For K-3 filers, aside from the NOA1, do we need the transfer notice? (notice that the case was been transfered from chicago lockbox to the california service center)?

Or the NOA1 is enough to file for the K3?
