I went to JFK to pick up my Brother

Just made me want to cry. Sunday night my sister and I drove to pick up my brother. He was in Italy, Germany and London for a college course he is taking.

When I went to the area to wait for him to come out the doors I took a good look around me.

SO many people waiting, tip toeing to see if their loved one's were coming out. Names were called out, people ran up to the arrived one's hugging and kissing.

I watched one couple reunite and almost started to cry. The man came out with all his luggage and this woman ran over to him, past the barrier and they hugged so hard I thought they would blend into each other. He kept stroking her head and saying "you're beautiful, you're beautiful".

I imagined that will be me and my fiance soon. I can't wait to get off the plane and see my sweetheart waiting for me. I miss him sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

And then came my little brother, all tan, bright eyed and a big grin across his face.

My loved shifted, from thinking about my fiance and then the love for my little brother. I was so happy to see him safe and sound and knew he had so much to tell us on our ride back to Brooklyn about his adventures.

Just thought I would share this little tid bit and wishing us all a happy, loving reunion with our loved ones. (L)

Thank you! So often we overlook some of the most obvious things around us and focus on the negative or the things that are not right rather than the things that are. What a great outlook you have, and I wish you a very quick journey so that you can soon be the one hugging your loved one and bringing tears to the eyes of those watching you.

Happy 4th of July!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Your story reminded me of what I witnessed while I was waiting for David in Detroit on 5/22.... I was fascinated by the varying 'styles' of reunions... some very stoic and proper... others businesslike... others very emotional. I watched them to take my mind off of my own impatience at waiting for David to appear... the longer it took, the more I worried. And then, all of a sudden, he was there and the rest of the world ceased to exist for a long, long time.

When I see him next, he will be here for good. I cannot even IMAGINE what that will be like, since our previous reunions have been so magical.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Bunny how is it going with the divorce papers RFE? Did you get those yet??

Still nothing in the mail :crying:

I am upset by trying to stay strong every day.

I just don't understand the delay, miscommunication, etc.

Thank you so much for this! This is one of the reasons me and my husband love the film "Love Actually" it starts with Terminal 4 in Heathrow, and how people wait for their loved ones and all that... Me and hubby met in Heathrow, Terminal 4... Your story reminded me of ours. I was coming out with huge suitcases on my trolley, could hardly push it by myself... And at the end of the hallway, there he was... Looking worried (it took me nearly an hour to get out) and when he turn his head to look towards the hallway and saw me coming, I could see the happiness in his eyes and his grin... He went round the barrier and hugged me so hard I thought I would not be able to breath anymore... At the same time I felt so loved and happy.... He kissed me in the head and said "Thank God you're here" .... It always fills my eyes in tears when I remember this, and that's why every now and again we'll watch the film, to remind us of how much we love each other...

Thank you for sharing. (L) Hope you will be reunited soon with your honey.

I don't know if you've seen the movie Love Actually. The movie starts out with scenes from Heathrow airport and it was my feel-good movie for a long time. Still nice to watch, it's not too horribly chick-flicky, pretty funny.

Edit: LOL anyta! Just saw your post. That movie really is nice!
