My wife and her daughter came here from Thailand on a fiance visa and we were married in March of 2007 and she received her green card in October of 2007. (If anyone remembers me, everything has been going great, we're both working and I am looking into adopting my step-daughter).

My question is, what is the next step? Everything I have done so far is on my timeline. I know that we need to file something else soon but I dont know what it is - help!

Looks like as of July 27 you're in the 90 day period before the 2 year card expires, so it's time to file the I-751 removal of conditions.

Thanks for the link - I'm looking at the form and I assume that all I have to do is list my stepdaughter on my wife's petition - is that what they mean by "joint petition"? Will I need to submit evidence for my step-daughter as well, such as here report cards from school etc?

Do you have a link dealing with this form and step-children?

'Joint' petition means you and your wife - you are petitioning to remove conditions on her residency based on her marriage to you and your life together.

I don't know a lot about K2s, but the link I provided says, " IF you have K-2 children who will also be filing for removal of conditions at the same time, you may include them and use only one form and only one fee for the form." Also, download I 751 form and the instructions; the instructions have a section about conditional resident children. The form itself has a space to list children applying 'with' the parent.

ETA I often find the forms and instructions make things clearer for me than just about anything I can find on a message board. But that's just me. :)

However when sending the fees you will need to send 2 fees for the biometrics one for wife and one for you daughter plus the applications fee :)

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?
