Thanks for that. We'll contact our GP over here and see what we can get.

As I said, we already tried to get copies of some records and they won't give them out--it's a struggle! I do like that in the US, as you said, you get copies of things...even though they come with a bill! Over here you don't even get a diagnosis unless you ask-they may just say 'you need a prescription' or 'you'll be fine in 2 weeks' and that's that. I like that in the US you get a receipt that says what the problem is, such as 'bronchitis', etc.

We'll give it a try and see what we can find out. I've saved our medical cards and the paperwork we have to hand, and I'll try to compile the balance.

Fiona, didn't you say that you found you were eligible for benefits once here? Wouldn't that cover your medical expenses?
