I was reading the I-797C (interview notice letter) and I was wondering about the "unless already submitted" documents. Does everyone still bring these documents even though they were sent in the original AOS package?

As a general rule, I would.

Because I have seen cases where they seem to have "misplaced" the documents, and at the interview, they want to see them (or the originals).

Best to be prepared to show them, if needed.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I brought a copy of every document I ever submitted to USCIS and a box full of evidence. They never looked at any of it and I carried it back home smiling. Green cards approved

We brought everything with us, even what we had already submitted. We figured it was better to be safe than sorry, just in case. ;)

Yeah.. same here.. I brought the actual copy of my I-485 package and also the original copy of those docs i.e. marriage cert, birth cert, etc

Good luck on your interview!!

If I submitted originals would it be enough to bring copies?

What kind of originals are you talking about? Are they things that are easy to get another "original" of, like a certified copy of a marriage certificate? Or did you send actual originals of things, like birth certificate or marriage certificate?

We were so ####### about it all that we even had those who wrote us affidavits send us new copies of the same affidavits, notarized again. Did we need them? No. Did we feel better? Yes. ;) Those were really the only "originals" we sent, other than a certified marriage cert copy. We got another one of those too. ;)

Oh, no it was originals of stuff we could easily get another copy of (not like I sent in my passport lol).
