What's the fastest way to send money to the Philippines without costing an expensive service charge? Any idea's? Can I fed ex to the hotel or her home some money form? just an idea... can i go to my usa bank and have it wired to a phil bank?

We've been using Paypal since 2006. There's only a $1 charge per transaction or shall I say withdrawal through ATM per P5,000.00 ($100)...

Just send a Paypal Card to your fiancee, then she can use it just like a regular ATM card to any ATM machine in the Philippines.

Who will beat $1.00 per $100? And as long as there is money on your paypal account, then she can withdraw it anytime.

Yes! Great minds think alike here. I love using PayPal, and it works anywhere in the world on ATM. $1 Dollar per withdraw. Best way to give Pinay weekly allowance and for ongoing expenses. The man loads the card, so Pinay can only spend what he puts in the acct. PayPal card is free to get. Most people who use Ebay already have a PayPal acct, so just go online and make 3 clicks, and your PayPal card is on the way.

I have been using Xoom and am happy with their service. Cheaper than western union for sure. I think their conversion rates are good too. The other day I was chatting my fiancee and she was saying that the neighbor had pigs for sale. In less than two minutes and three chat lines later, while still conversing I had sent her $75 dollars to buy a pig.

Forget all the service fees when sending money to the Philippines. I have been using a Global pre-paid debit card to transfer money to a relative in the Philippines. It is probably the cheapest, fastest, and safest way that I could think of. A company that offers this service is Quantum Express (http://www.freemoneytransfer.ca). I only pay a small yearly membership of $59 and I get to send money for free and it is unlimited. They've also sent me a discount card I can use to save money from different stores. This service is only currently available in Canada and should be available soon in the US and the UK.

Well I have been tackling this problem since 2006. first tried sending a money order by snail mail. Yes not smart. was a waste of time and effort. Westernunion was the fastest way or X-Zoom. not bad but not as efficient as western. but again service charge altho not much was still not the smartest or fastest way. After all this time like I said from 2006 I finally figured out the best way to do a funds transer is to get a prepaid visa or debit card. send it to them set a pin. I got one from Walmart. come with 2 cards one to send one to use on this side to load. cost only 3 dollars to load and they can draw money from any atm and get the bank rate not the rate western says which is always lower. so for 3 dollars and a short wait in line to lod the money is there and avalable to use. simple smart and efficint. Oh yes I did fed-X the card for her to her. I guess you could snale mail it but I perfered to make sure she had it

Anyways is the best way I found to send money when needed. just my two cents

My fiancee used xoom to send me money before and then moneygram.

Yesterday,I sent money to my brother using xoom.I chose bank deposit since I opened him a bank account at Banco De Oro before I left PI.Didn't encounter problems. The money deposited in his account so fast and he already got it.Xoom charges me $3.99,cheaper than Western Union.
