Timeline

Hi folks,

I just noticed that my timeline had a message below stating that my I-129F will be abjucticated between Sept 7, 2009 to Sept 17, 2009. How accurate is this estimated time? I mean any K-1 CSC filer who got their approval based on these dates. I was really nice to have some kind of timline to look at, but hopefully its sooner than later :).

It's only a estimate don't live by it.

The estimate is based on the date that applications are currently being processed, that date will continue to flucuate. The estimate takes into account the most recent approval with the nearest date... ie. people are being approved from late february at the CSC right now yet the date is March 6th because that is the date of the latest approval though most of the approvals are late february.

Its accuracy is also limited by the number of people who choose to fill in their timelines which is why VJ members insist on telling those who have yet to fill in their timelines to do so... :time:

Also keep in mind that not everyone applying for a K-1 Visa is a member of Visa Journey so their timelines are not included in the estimate.

It does fluctuates a lot, sometimes VSC is faster than CSC, and vice-versa. Sometimes you will see people who mailed the petition months after some other people being approved first. Good luck on your journey!

It's only an estimate don't live by it.

I definitely second that. I'm at VSC with an NOA1 of Feb 18th, and I was getting so excited watching the estimate processing day inch closer and closer. However, the estimated processing date has been stalled for several days at Feb 17th, and actually moved back one day to Feb 16th this evening. I recommend keeping an eye on filers on Igor's list, whose NOA1 dates are close to yours, and get excited only when people near your date at your specific service center are receiving their NOA2.

Oh and ardently pray that people around your NOA1 date are updating their timelines regularly.

I-129F Sent 2/2/2009

NOA1 2/18/2009

Touch 2/23/2009

NOA2 Approval Date 6/18/2009 (at Igor's List #167 when approved)

Yeah, I think that sounds like more of a reasonable thing to do. I will just keep an eye out for filers with the same NOA1 date as mine. Best of luck to

to you as well!

The VJ timelimes are based on actual experience of VJ members, averaged over a period of time. So they are about as accurate as you will find. The Service Centers seem to go through "spurts" of activity. If one of those "spurts" happens during your processing your petition could be approved sooner. Ours was approved more than one month before estimated. They are NOT accurate enough to be making travle or wedding plans from. Also that is the date of adjusication...NOA2...it is no tthe date the visa is issued and you could have several more months to wait after that, depending on NVC and the consulate.

I hope I get one of those "spurts", yeah but not making any wedding plans until I get the approval. Hoping for a November wedding, but it all depends on the process. I hope CSC starts approving more March filers.

Good luck, Starlight!

Yeah, definitely don't make any wedding plans until you get your interview (unless it won't be costly or difficult to change your wedding plans if need be). We risked a little by putting down a deposit on our venue as soon as we had the interview date, but our wedding was very low-key and it was far enough in advance we felt safe. Luckily we were, but I've read stories here were people weren't so lucky.

Hopefully you'll be able to have your November wedding, though!

Thanks I hope so. Yeah, not planning anything concrete until my fiance's approval.

To us it wasn't accurate. It said we'd be approved in March but we ended up getting approved towards the end of May. You'll find it changes a lot also. A friend of ours got approved quite a bit before the estimated date that was given. I think it varies, really. Just aim for 6 months as it is the standard time it takes to get your NOA2. If you get it before then that's great.

Also, even though we didn't find the estimated approval date helpful, we still checked it out of curiosity along with Igors list. ^_^

Congrats on the approval! Curious, why did yours take a bit longer than was it due to the address change?
