I wouldnt say its outrageous but I am tired of having it crammed down my throat. Theres no need for an apology as a nation our actions have spoken for us, loud and clear.

Well this has been brought up many times along with reparations and thats why I said that.

Of course not, love veterans day and like, but when it comes to racism and slavery we have covered that topic a million times in the states, tired of it.

I don't agree with reparation payouts but there is something to be said for collective responsibility on behalf of the government and those who benefited from an unfair system.

No coincidence why many minority groups are at the bottom of the socio economic ladder. Its all related.

That's almost as crazy as someday having a black man as head of state or "majority minority" states. It will never happen.

The black-white society is quickly becoming a thing of the past with changes far faster than global warming. It's a not a good or bad thing but simply what is and what is to come.

Indeed its WAY too late for reparations... and all previous efforts at initiating a balancing act, although quite crude... have been met by quite a lot of resistance and claims that now we live in a post-racial society. Claims like that are easy to make, and it is really unfortunate (we've stated that over and over) how some folks would focus on feeling falsely vulnerable to race when they claim its a post-racial society.

Indeed Dave... yet some still whine about it. I absolutely think this nation is moving in the right direction as it comes to race relations... it is what it is. Evolution of a society. In terms of people, it just means that the younger generations are less bigoted than the old. And the old die.

Yes I do think it was unnecessary. I would imagine that a lot of Germans are tired of hearing it too, holocaust this and that and the countless movies that have been made about it. It was a tragedy and Im not trying to minimize it but to apologize after all these years seems silly and unnecessary to me.

America had a civil war that ended slavery, lives were lost and a this country stood up for what was right. We have already said we were sorry in many ways.
