I have a silly question.. just something that I have been thinking about!

I will be attending my husband's IR interview with him.. over the 4 years he has sent me numerous cards n letters.. should I bring those to the interview as well or just the cards and letters sent by me to the beneficiary are conisdered as evidence?

If yes, should I have different folders or just one folder with letters and cards between two of us is enough?

Also, I haven't saved the boarding passes and such(had no idea about these things until I joined this forum) so should I just make a copy of the passport pages with the visit dates since I have visited him quite a few times since we got married and had stayed in Pakistan for 6 months until I moved back here to pursue it further!

Anything else that we MUST include as the evidence of ongoing relationship for past 4 years?

Bring it all Baby!!! Everything, cards, letters, some emails from early on to the present. Bring your passport , make copies also, bring phone bills, chat logs, any receipts from overseas, pictures. And plus you being there for the interview is a big plus!!!

Put all in a binder, section everything off, emails, letters, chats all in date order, then section #2 phone bills, #3, etc etc.

make it a no brainer easy reference for the C.O. at interview. Get a big album for all your pics. Good luck, it will be fine!!!

Truly happy!!!

Oh great.. i will! Thank you so much :-)

Unfortunately I dun have many chat logs since we didn't even know that we will be going through the immigration so never saved anything.. besides that I always used the phone cards to call him so there is no proof of that.. only his phones bills would show my number and we have taht sorted out!!

I wonder if they allow the albums to the embassy.. I will send an email to embassy and see or atleast take couple of brown envelopes with me so if they ask to leave the albums out.. we can transfer the pics to the brown envelope!

I like your idea for sections.. will definitely get that done!!

Okay if they dont allow albums, remember the old time scrap books? get one of those for your pics "just for the interview"

Just bring anything pertaining to your 4 years together, do you have any joint credit cards or banking together? Or maybe leased a apartment together in beneficiarys country? Any joint receipts? stuff like that.

Truly happy!!!

good idea.. we dun have anything like banking/lease because he never had a SSN here so I never added him on anything. I stayed in Pakistan with him at the rented place but there is no such thing as written lease there so we dun have a proof of that.. yes we do have plenty of pics because both of us love taking pics!!!

The only proof I have is cards/letters, entry/exit stamps on my passport, pics, and his phone bills. I hope it would be sufficient.. if not, we are pretty much ruined. :-(

Just an FYI, I've read on here not to put photos in albums, not because they dont allow them, but sometimes the officer just wants to flip through them and take specific ones and that would just be easier if you just had them like in a pile instead of all nicely tucked away in an album....good luck!

Abentiez..I am a US citizen (originally Pakistani) and going to his interview with him.. I had emailed embassy before I bought my plane ticket to inquire if they let the US citizen spouse stay with the beneficiary during the interview.. the answer was YES so I decided to go.. I would rather be there with him then suffer and be miserable here in the US.

Where does your husband live in Pakistan?

Remember that many (most? all?) consulates & embassies have Plexiglass windows separating the public from the COs. If this is the case at yours, an album or binder will not fit through the curved space under the Plexiglass. If you bring a binder, consider a 3-ring binder whereby you can pull pages (for example, photos in plastic sheets) from it and slide them under the window. Confirm the situation with others who have interviewed where you will interview.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

yes we do have those plexiglass windows at the embassy in Islamabad.. thanks for reminding me that. I will do a three ring binder with plastic sheets in it as different folders and would label them all on the outside.. for now, I am just collecting the ideas and suggestions, will work on it this weekend. Thanks everyone.
