Salaam and hello everyone. I have a few questions, I am hoping someone can help.

So my husband lives in Egypt and has most of his life, although he was in Lahore for some time in 2000-2001. He is in need of a Character Certificate and is having a lot of trouble trying to get this from the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. They told him they have never done that there before.

Anyhow, they told him he needs to references that live in Pakistan. Which is fine, he gave them that. Then they said they needed the local police department where he lived there to send the info too. Which he did as well. Now they are saying this will take an extremely long time to get.

Sigh......

They offered one more solution: To have someone in Pakistan get this for my husband certificate and then fax it to the embassy in Cairo. They said that they will certify that everything is accurate.

Does anyone have any idea how to get a police certificate in Lahore, when you are NOT in Pakistan? Is the embassy in Cairo, handling this correctly? How long does it take to get this certificate? Is it in English? How long is it good for: 3mo, 6mo or a year?

We are so frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!
