Hey all, for those of you already in the U.S. from the Philippines, I am curious what things your fiance did that helped you adjust to life in a new country? My little lady will hopefully be here before the year is out and I want to try to make it as easy a change as possible for her. Thanks for your thoughts in advance!

Best to leave a computer with her family so she can chat and cam with them. Home sickness is a biggy.

Buy rice cooker also.

Agreed. Take a laptop with you, arrange to have wireless internet at the home, and leave laptop behind for the family. It would be a shame to have granny hoofing it down to the internet cafe with her cane just to say hello.

Also, get TFC and GMA channels on your tv. Take Mahal to Jollibee if there is one in your town. Join a Fil-Am association and church in your town.

Get an automatic rice cooker and have it on daily.

Woot!!

Simply put, my hubby, then fiance, gives me everything i want and need.

You have to ask your fiancee what she wants, her interests, hobbies...
