Also, usually, the foreigners are the one who are hunting for us filipinas, to be their wives. I agree with the the previous reply about filipinas. We are known to be the best (if not the best, one of the best) partner in life. I believe it's because of our upbringing which foreigners love so much.
and this assumption/"fact" of yours is based on what?

personal experience ... or stereotyping

just noting that that is a presumptuous statement....i would have to wonder about the mentality of these men who "hunt" these women to be their wives....can't be only positive reasons...in any case, it's an offensive comment, but can't say that i am surprised honestly....

then again, this world isn't exactly utopia...

:)

just an observation ...

when a person of one culture says their culture is better than other cultures ... well the conversation usually goes downhill after that ...

Hey, if you'll read what I've said, there's nothing in there in which I've said that our culture is better than others. But I did say that it's loved by most foreigners. You don't need to have the better culture to be loved...

If it's fact or presumptuous? I think the OP answered that when he/she said that majority of beneficiaries of marriage-based visa applications are filipinos.

does the ^ bold not say a culture is best .. or one of the best?

how about we all agree that there are good and bad people in every culture? btw, i hate filipino food, but had a former co-worker who was from there and she was an awesome lady, if not a bit annoying at times. but that doesn't mean i'm going to say the majority of people think like me. and that doesn't mean i'm going to assume most filipinas are like her. i just think it's funny you would even say most foreigners love filipino culture...but whatever floats your boat. anyways this convo is pretty stupid so i'll just say cheers and good luck to you in your VJ journey, wherever it may be. after all, in the end, we are all in the same sh!t boat no matter where we are from.

best wishes,

kat

let's all stop from bashing, comparing whose the best or not and getting too personal.

every woman in every country (not only the philippines) can be the best wife for her husband. though we're all entitled to express about how lucky we are to have such great partners, let's all be sensitive enough not to bash too much and started comparing other cultures and other countries. that will diffidently create heated discussion...

And alright...Maybe hunting is not the right word, maybe not even prying. If the foreigner goes out of his way to meet a someone or find someone, I'm not sure what word should be used...But anyways, maybe PREFERENCE is the better word for that.

Honestly, I don't understand what the fuss here...Some foreigners prefer filipinas, just like some prefer other nationalities. It just happened that based on the OP's VJ statistics, there are more filipinas involve in a relationship with foreigners, than the other nationalities. So what?!?

I think it just goes to show that more foreigners PREFER filipinos. For those raising your eyebrows and before you make hasty comments, maybe you should analyze it and maybe you'd realize that there must be something really good about filipinas why these men want to marry us.

I think the world will be a lot nicer if there's not much judgemental people...Also, I think we should all learn to respect choices and preferences of other people.

there are many reasons why people select a mate. some are legitimate (love) and some are "business transactions". neither you nor I can judge others as we have our own personal experience to live. why one culture has a higher incidence of marrying into other cultures, than other cultures do, is open to debate and is a double edged sword. maybe it's best to simply be happy with the person of our dreams and hope others are as fortunate as we are ... no matter what culture they may be from.

Problem is self entitlement. Stating over and over again how one clan of people are better than others. You have no proof of it. To see it realistically, people usually don't marry other nationality, so still for most Americans their own other American spouse are the best. How many American neighbors of yours are married to foreigners? None of mine for sure.

And then there are these sites and everything involved which advertise a human being or the whole clan out here to be the best for your needs. Advertisement has a great role in our modern society, no wonder it is such a big industry. Even if you have a good product and you can't advertise is, no one is going to buy it but even a shitty product with a beautiful model can sell a lot but that doesn't mean it’s the best product.

So stop exhibiting yourself as a product material. All those sites which claim that Filipinos make the best wife, well they are primarily Filipino sites, what else would you expect from it? And if you read their literary genius they do portrait Filipino women as submissive ones, the ones who would put husband’s need first.

You are a good wife, good for you; you have a great husband, good for you again. But saying everyone married to Filipino are happily married forever is a bit of going overboard.

I won't post again in this thread; I did say what I had to say. Peace.

Thanks Kat. Goodluck to you also.

Just to clarify, when I said that most foreigners love filipino culture, that was in defense to the OP's statistics here since he/she seemed not so happy about having so many filipinos being part of the majority of the marriage-based visa application. As I've said earlier, I'm sure there is a reason why there are many filipinas here...

Anyways, as I also said awhile ago, it all boils down to choices and preferences. And I agree with you saying that there are good and bad people in every culture. I also made that point earlier. I don't know if you've read it.

Let's just learn to respect the choices and preferences of everyone and the world will be a better place to live in...

Anyways, let's chill out! ;)
