by the way, i'd like to see where in my comments you may find any insults or attacks. just read your above post and think you're being a bit too dramatic. just admit that your comment was offensive to anyone who is not from the philippines. that's all.

Btw, just to clarify about my response to your post before this, when I said "YOU", I am refering to people who have thrown insults, not necessarily you. I think it's you being a bit too dramatic here. If you would check my replies, there was never a time that I singled out that you, enraptured insulted us. So why are you being so defensive and even want me to look for your offensive comments, if there's any?

Also I don't understand why you're singling me out to be the only one who said that. And even if I was the only one who said that, I said it as my opinion. I didn't say that it's a fact. Your opinion is just as good as mine. If it offended others, sorry...But I didn't say that to deliberately offend other nationalities unlike the other foreigners here. For the nth time, I said that to make a point which is clearly always missed.

It amazes me how other people keep concentrating on the example given (in case of natty, the word being used such as race instead of nationality) and make a big deal out of it and not to the point which is trying to be conveyed, no matter how clear it is.

For the record: I have nothing against other nationalities and I never meant to offend any. I've met people from different nationalities and most of them are really nice and it cool. I never really thought of myself as a racist of some kind.

And if I must say, I do appreciate those foreigners who understand that those words are not meant to offend them. I appreciate the open-mindedness and the not being judgmental.

Well, THAT one's pretty...

like all of humans, phillipinas included, some are pretty and well...

some are not.

based on what i've seen on this site.

I've got to ask, because some one has to do it, why are the Philippines so apparently overrepresented on VJ in terms of K-1 beneficiaries? I understand that the country makes up somewhere around 1.37% of the world population, but my sense is that somewhere around 75% of the k-1 beneficiaries on this site are from the Philippines. What gives?

Shhhh, itz a well-kept secret: Filipinas make the best wives. They KNOW how to properly care for their man!

Do you think the girls are ready for the MENA forum?

 they'd be shredded.

Charles...thanks for pointing out another reason why Filipinas are the best! They prefer to stay right here in the Philippines Regional Forum...where the love is!!! :P

Dear trinket...

I think I love you in that platonic, let's be friends, you're pretty awesome for a person I've never met sort of way.

Way to say something really well and eloquently and not come across as conceited or rude. I do believe that there should be a little more humility on this site. I mean really... beauty is in the eye of the beholder, people.

Cheers to you Trinket, well said...

Best to you,

LGG

Ok, you Filipino girls. I do like you and all that and I am not the type to bait, but seriously, don't you think this slogan of yours -- WE ARE THE BEST WIVES.........is getting a bit too far?

And about posting pictures of couple who have a large age difference, well I can't because that's against TOS rules and I know where to stop even if I don't want to stop. But you can always check the Visa Journey Gallery section and know and see what others do see there. I am no beauty queen, heck I am fat and all that, but I am not married to a grandpa either.

2 things I have objection about this--- We are the best wife, foreigners choose us than anyone else.

Number 1-- Have you lived in any other household where the guy is American but the wife is from some other country and not Philippines? By your statement that you do make the bestest wife, you are insulting me and every other woman of other nationality saying how we aren't cut for loving our husband. I didn't use the word caring, because I am sure my husband can take care of himself, if he needed a caregiver he should have lived with his mom or could have hired someone.

Number 2--Do you really want to show your national heritage as being the chosen one as in a married material? Is that the pride that being a wife is everything in life, and that too a submissive wife, because a lot of you have attested in here that you let your man be the king of his castle. Really?? what about your own position, what about you being the partners, what about you having a say on finances and all that.

And don't tell me its only the foreign men who pry upon Filipino women. I was an avid chatter back in the days and would always get IMs from Filipinos enquiring if I am a male or not........to clarify I had asexual id, so no one really knew my gender by reading my id name. My husband has also got a lot of those IMs, hell even my 58 year old dad get those, girls asking money after 2 days because they are in desperate situation.

I don't want to keep ranting, but it would be nice for you girls to accept the reality. There are people who are looking for a way out of Philippines and they can and will do anything to achieve that. You read it everyday how an old man gets scammed by the young Filipina. I say it’s the fault of old man too, but whatever.

Try to be a bit more humble towards other people, not every one who isn't married to a Filipino is also married to a monster. If you think you are doing a great work by asking your husband the first thing--- If you ate the food or not, you are wrong. I won't toot my own horn but there are people who have done more than that and they do it every day.

Peace out!

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I really didn't appreciate the foreigners attacking/insulting us filipinas. The thing is that we can't change the way they see us. I think the only thing we can do is to prove to them that they are NOT any better than us. I don't believe that keeping quiet and avoiding arguments is the way to do it, especially if they are insulting our race. While I believe that we have to choose our own battles, I also believe that if someone pick a fight, we have the right to defend ourselves but of course, we should make sure that we're fighting in the best way we can and not dragging ourselves into the mud. Let's not reply to them them the way they are responding to us here. We can do so much better than that.

And yes, Filipinas make the best wives!!! Why? Because I and the filipinas and their spouses said so and even if others strongly disagree, I don't care! We're entitled to our own opinions and that is something they should learn to respect and get over with. Let us also respect their right to claim that their nationalities are the best. Let us not attack/insult people who don't agree with us and who are attacking/insulting us. Otherwise, we won't be any different from them at all.

filipinas is a race? really? a culture yes ... an nationality yes ..

Here we go again with the filipinas make the best wives. wow ... just wow ...

You are begging the question then, of WHO qualifies as a race. Please enlighten us, professor? :star::star:

try google and search for yourself ...

I do have mother in-law and she is American, she is so great. I have a co-worker she is Vietnamese people loves her for being thoughtful, caring, understanding, and for being kind to all of us. I met Chinese lady during my clinical; she is so helpful to us, no matter how hard our day was there is always smile on her face. I know one lady and she is Mexican, our classmate likes her :star: being a shy type and kind. My Vietnamese friend is married to her husband for 25 years, the Chinese lady spent half of her life here with her husband. They might be the best wives but they are not Filipina. The bottom line is, no matter who you are, where you came from, what matters most is the inner you. I can’t say who is the best wife in this world, but I know the word RESPECT

Let me share my two cents for this thread.

I read some of the posted comments on this thread. I would say that I may agree to some of the opinions and I may not buy the idea of others.

Let me put it this way.. I don't totally agree that Filipinas are the best wives in the world. Simply because the word "best" may be relative as we look into it from the different perspectives of people with different background, cultures and many others. We do not have standards to gauze the qualities of Filipinas in marriage. Besides, I found that claim discriminatory to other races. How knowledgable we are on the marriages of other races and on how women/wives do well in their marriages? I cannot answer that question. Besides, not all Filipinas in their marriages are doing their best of what ought to be wives. Just to mention a very good example, the case of Mr. Smith that created a big buzz in the Philippine forum. The wife of Mr. Smith is a filipina but if there was truth on it, what she did was inhuman and would not qualify her to be the best wife. Futhermore, it takes two tango in marriage. Even you are the best wife you can be but if you meet in your life a man who does not complement to your qualities--no good chemistry, so to speak. The claim of being best wife has no sense or value at all.

i would never claim that I'm the "BEST" wife for my husband...

I practice... lowered expectation.. the lower his expectations are the easier for me to become the best!

Let's just put it this way, IF based on OP's statistics, more foreigners in VJ prefer Filipinas

One of the reason is that:

Filipinas speak English much better compare to other countries like China,Thailand, Vietnamese,Columbia etc etc.

Better than Canadians?

:star: You're very funny Sheree  But you speak French better.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."
