Problem is self entitlement. Stating over and over again how one clan of people are better than others. You have no proof of it. To see it realistically, people usually don't marry other nationality, so still for most Americans their own other American spouse are the best. How many American neighbors of yours are married to foreigners? None of mine for sure.

it is also a geographical and local culture issue. where I used to live back east it was not so common to see people of different cultures in a marriage. here it's quite common. it is also common to see husband/wife from different cultures in my wifes hometown.

And alright...Maybe hunting is not the right word, maybe not even prying. If the foreigner goes out of his way to meet a someone or find someone, I'm not sure what word should be used...But anyways, maybe PREFERENCE is the better word for that.

Honestly, I don't understand what the fuss here...Some foreigners prefer filipinas, just like some prefer other nationalities. It just happened that based on the OP's VJ statistics, there are more filipinas involve in a relationship with foreigners, than the other nationalities. So what?!?

I think it just goes to show that more foreigners PREFER filipinos. For those raising your eyebrows and before you make hasty comments, maybe you should analyze it and maybe you'd realize that there must be something really good about filipinas why these men want to marry us.

I think the world will be a lot nicer if there's not much judgemental people...Also, I think we should all learn to respect choices and preferences of other people.

Problem is self entitlement. Stating over and over again how one clan of people are better than others. You have no proof of it. To see it realistically, people usually don't marry other nationality, so still for most Americans their own other American spouse are the best. How many American neighbors of yours are married to foreigners? None of mine for sure.

And then there are these sites and everything involved which advertise a human being or the whole clan out here to be the best for your needs. Advertisement has a great role in our modern society, no wonder it is such a big industry. Even if you have a good product and you can't advertise is, no one is going to buy it but even a shitty product with a beautiful model can sell a lot but that doesn't mean it’s the best product.

So stop exhibiting yourself as a product material. All those sites which claim that Filipinos make the best wife, well they are primarily Filipino sites, what else would you expect from it? And if you read their literary genius they do portrait Filipino women as submissive ones, the ones who would put husband’s need first.

You are a good wife, good for you; you have a great husband, good for you again. But saying everyone married to Filipino are happily married forever is a bit of going overboard.

I won't post again in this thread; I did say what I had to say. Peace.

From someone who said earlier that she likes filipinas, that's really something. Hehehe...and u just totally missed what I've said about CHOICES & PREFERENCES.

I think at the end of the day, the only answer why there are many filipina beneficiaries of marriage-based visa applications is due to CHOICES & PREFERENCES. Let's just put it this way, IF based on OP's statistics, more foreigners in VJ prefer Filipinas (some petitioners are not even foreigners but also filipinos) because it's their choice and preference. PERIOD. You don't need to attack us.

As said earlier, there are good and bad everywhere. A woman scamming a man? That doesn't only happen in the Philippines. Stop being judgmental. People just happened to have different preferences in choosing their partners in life.

To Nutty,

If they married not because of love but of something else, that's none of our business already. Again, as I've said earlier, it's their lives, their choices, their happiness. It's not for us to judge. And you're right, "it's best to simply be happy with the person of our dreams and hope others are as fortunate as we are ... no matter what culture they may be from".

Chill out! :)

I've got to ask, because some one has to do it, why are the Philippines so apparently overrepresented on VJ in terms of K-1 beneficiaries? I understand that the country makes up somewhere around 1.37% of the world population, but my sense is that somewhere around 75% of the k-1 beneficiaries on this site are from the Philippines. What gives?

boy am I going to run, what gives?

philipinas give!!!!

I like that one... ALLLL RIGHT!

I am very chilled.

Your comments (click for reference) indicating a culture is best (or one of the best) just didn't paint a good portrait. I simply tried to make some polite comments about this. Hope we are both okay with this.

btw: thanks for correcting the spelling of my name ...

I think a large percentage on VJ is because there is not another site dedicated just to philipines. Many other nationalities are represented by other instructional sites like this one so we cruise past this site (and the timeline system here is great) but we spent more time posting on other sites.

Example being China has Candleforlove website. This throws VJ out of proportion a bit.

But there is a website!

I'm cool with that natty.

I'm sorry if u think that comment didn't paint a good portrait. But i hope you also understand that we're all entitled to our own opinions. The reason why i added "if not the best, one of the best" because claiming that "we are the best" might set-off other nationalities and it did :P . And come to think of it, I think anyone can claim that their nationalities are the best for this and that since that's based mostly on opinions. What's best for me, might not be best for you or for others. For some, filipinas are the best wives, to others maybe American or Syrians or Koreans,or Russians, etc. I'm sure if the women here in VJ would ask their partners, they would say that the nationality of their partners is the best wives in the world. So let's not argue anymore which nationality makes the best wives.

I just really hated the fact that some people here tried to insult us filipinas by IMPLYING that the reason why there are many filipinas here in VJ and as beneficiaries of visa applications is because we're scammers. There are scammers all over the world, not just in the Philippines. In all places, there are good and bad people.

And to those people implying that we're people who will do anything just to get out of our country or better our lives or just to survive, there also people who will do anything just to better their lives or to survive in all parts of the world. It doesn't only happen in the Philippines. And I don't see anything wrong with wanting to better their lives. It's human nature.

Having said that, I think we just all have to learn to respect each others opinion and avoid being judgmental. ;)

Amen to that! All you said are very sensible in nature. Let us live and let live so this world will be a nice place for the rest of human race. Friendship should be the name of the game and let's have LOVE and PEACE in our hearts. God bless all of us!

In what other country can a fat ugly old man get a young beautiful wife if you aren't rich!

Ukraine, Mexico, Guatamala, Hungary, Czeck Republic, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Belaruz, to name a few! Rich is relative.

You left out Russia, China, Thailand, and a bunch of South American countries.

As nice as that sounds, I'm not sure there's any evidence to back up the fact that Philippina women make "better" wives than women of any other nationality. I don't think we're being honest with ourselves here.

The "evidence" is the fact that you are here in the Philippines Regional Forum, instead of the boring South American Regional Forum. :P

Filipinas are lively, supportive, and fun. They have big hearts and a wonderful sense of humor too. That's why I married a Filipina, and that's why I'm here in the Philippines Regional Forum.

Honestly, Filipinas can't help it if you are envious!
